The large center bolt I believe is the “bleed valve” for the unit if I
remember correctly. If so tightening would not hurt anything…the system
must be bleed after reinstall due to air in the line which makes the
steering sloppy and unpredictable.
the fan there block the item which is i am trying to take out. Why did you
take it out so easily, can you give detail information about it? Appreciate
it!
Theres like a little nipple right besides it … Isnt that the bleeder?
Hey man my power steering gearbox is leaking from the top middle bolt ….
Can i tighten it? Or need to reseal the box?
SnowmanJon…your Disco has the ACE suspension system on it. I can tell by
the two caps in the reservoir for the power steering fluid. My question
is…what is that pump above the power steering pump that you took of prior
to taking the bracket off?
No problem! Wish I had better audio for this..
Thank for this…about to replace my power steering pump this weekend! You
just saved me a lot of money
Dunno I just went to the local parts store and they matched me up…
hey guys I am having trouble finding this part that you changed in the RAVE
under steering components, any ideas?
The third bolt (Top center on the pump) is a stud to the motor with a nut
on the forward side. I took the nut off and slid the pump forward then took
a sawzaw and cut the threads off the stud. Makes for super easy
removal/installation. After more then 20K on it like this I have ZERO
issues with that little nut missing I left the stud in for ease of
installation. The other question is in my description. Good question,
thanks for the comment.
was that third bolt broken on the pump and what were u doing with the pump
on the bench $200 for new one.how long to do the job ,don’t forget to bleed
the system
