had nothing but trouble with that carb. it would bog down and splutter
when it got warmed up at higher rpm. Just before changing gears.

Wishbone799 says:

It wasn’t the carb but rather the fuel pump, I switched to a electric fuel
pump which fixed the problem. The Weber carb works very well.

had the same thing rich running the backfire loss of power the weber is
great but carb iceing is a item with this carb but not a problem.

John says:

Is the webber better on fuel?

Wishbone799 says:

Any difference in performance? Does the engine have more go or less?

Hi! Where did you get the kit from? My old solex is playing up and i figure
if it’s going to need swapping, might as well be with a weber! Cheers!

AllotmentHolder says:

I cannot say either way as I have not tested it – but – it is supposed to
be as it is less of a performance carb than others. for normal driving it
has been good. Plus it being new and unworn it should also be better as
long as its set right. Hope this helps Ian

I have not had carb icing at all since installation and am very pleased
with the carb. In my opinion it was a good move.

To further my reply on a recent road run I got 21.9 MPG over 110 Mile trip
on British ‘A’ Roads. That was better than I was getting on the faulty
Zenith. It did drop however when using low range for off road travel down
to 15 – 16 MPG whist in this mode Hope this helps

AllotmentHolder says:

Sorry for the delay in reply. I have not noticed any change it runs really
well and I am happy with it still (Almost 2years) I did not know how it
changed as the old carb was not good when I got the Land Rover.
