Rower sd1 3.5 engine petrol, could u tel me big-gen bearing talk setting
how much to tight

Eddie Edwards says:

nice build and clean…but next build try standing the block vertical and
use center gravity to drop the cam in..it lessens the chance of damaging a
beautiful new cam bearing and makes those premium rebuilds even better…

Mark Dix says:

Nice build. I am doing a 4.6 at the moment and looks like I need to bore
to +20thou. Where did you get your pistons from, Realsteel have some, but
I am hearing that non genuine LR stuff isnt very good??

buggeray says:

Awesome, she should go bloody good out there. You got a full performance
exhaust system? Would be lotsa fun to really open her up out there and
listen to her roar. Fuck yeah! Lotsa sand lol

uncaljeff says:

thanks man, when so meny people throw them away when repairs get a bit
tuff, it takes a bit of love to do one up, but at least we know whats in
them, and who built them. next year when she is in the simpson desert ill
know she’ll be right.

Chocokid321 says:

did you set the lifter pre load? on the heads

buggeray says:

Simpson desert aye…………….you gonna shoot a few vids while your out
there? Would be good to see.

EnterMyUserNameHere says:

Good job. That takes patience. The timing chain on my RR just went, so i’m
going to have some fun with that. Yippee!!

uncaljeff says:

yes, the lifters are hydrolic but because the comp was changed the rockers
had to be shimmed up to corect the clearence. other wize the valves may not
close fully.

Chocokid321 says:

how do you measure the clearence ? im doing mine and i have an idea on how
to do it, i have the shim kit that you put it in under the towers of the
rocker arms

itjstagame says:

Meticulous, nicely done.

buggeray says:

Your engine looks fuckin good mate, well done! I just rebuilt the 3.5 in my
rangie because the rings on number 8 piston decided to let go and eat away
at it. It still ran though ! lol Also, the heads look good, especially the
exhaust ports from what I can see in the video. Dunno about you but, I
enjoy my Land Rover even more now knowing it’s my sweat that’s powering it.
lol Peace out bro

uncaljeff says:

no man, i havent done the exhust yet…. it idles soo low, it sits at about
300 rpm and lopps down to about 150 so it would sound sweet with pipes and
headers you can hear the note is in there but its got the stock exhust on
for now. its hard to justify it to the misses right now, im thinking of
asking a muffler shop if they would do it in exchange for my brand new snap
on torque wrench ?

buggeray says:

Hehe yeah, snap on stuff definately aint easy on the wallet.

uncaljeff says:

for sure man, i just droped in a aussie desert cooler radiator last week
its the first tripple core ever made by them to be in a discovery. twin
elec fans 4000 cfm. im going to pop on a video of it soon. slowly getting
it all up to speed to hit the simpson.
