He won’t say because it’s a very tricky process which requires a good amount of knowledge of metallurgy and not doing it right can anneal the head and shorten its usable lifetime. If you really want to know you can read about it in a few places online.

my 2.25 petrol series 3 has 253,000miles on original engine and gear box and is now 36 years old. i don’t see what the problem is.

just got through rebuilding a 2000 Disco 2 4.0 liter engine myself. I was just wondering what temp you heat those heads to in the oven?
