This is why I did not buy a land Rover, as for me it would cost a fortune just for a handbrake does not make sense. I bought a Mitsubishi Pajero just so simple normal handbrake no air suspension! I am English and love landrovers but I'd never ever own one

Great and a brilliant job! Very rewarding when you improve on something and get those cogs well greased Concern over the cable ends where they meet the brakes – water ingress as pointed out by Vera, as you've done just pack with waterproof grease, I get through tons of it on machinery. One comment, as I've mentioned before, get the small rigid mud flap spats that stop all that spray up onto the outside of the wheel arch! My OCD kicking in…. bloody desktop mechanics! Maintenance on these vehicles is not for the faint hearted, and the facilities and amount of kit you have is better than most garages – they would just say replace, and another 5K please!

It is fine to use bathroom RTV on a plastic part 🙂
There are even oil resistant and metal safe ones out there
