On late model 800’s (1996-1999) It is just open ended and not connected to
anything else. It should just be taped up with black tape to the other
wires in the wiring loom as shown in the vid. On earlier 1996 cars;
(1992-1996) the connector should have 4 wires. On the early cars you need
to remove the bridge connection that is present, then connect the
Yellow/Green wire to the black wire as shown. (to make sure you have the
right connector the other 2 wires are Yellow/Black & Purple/Grey.)

Car registered 1st August 1996, could be either but has all the hallmarks
of the later models… When i get a chance i`ll have another look at it
Thanks for getting back to me 🙂

Your Welcome. We had to revert to video ourselves last week when we had ABS
problems. Got them sorted & a new MOT now. 🙂

Thanks for the video – been searching around for possible solutions for
this fault. Cheers!

I have a question… The connector you bridged across with a bit of wire,
was it just hanging there or did you disconnect it from something else ???
I tried to do this today, on a P Reg 825 Sterling Coupe… But there was no
sign of the white connector near the block of fuses… Everything else
looked exactly the same though Just wondered if you pulled this connector
off a relay or something ??? Any advice would be welcomed 🙂

ifitsgotwheels says:

So sorry Mr69Deano, I have no idea why it seems to be missing on your
Coupe. As far as I am aware they all should have the connector there. The
video was filmed in a late model Coupe. I have not seen or looked for the
connector in any cars prior to 1998 ones. Can anyone else please confirm if
there car does not have any connecter here or where else we might look?

Mr69Deano says:

Hi, had another look last week, no sign of the connector… did i mention
its a Coupe model ?? cos i checked on another sterling i have, a 1999
saloon and there it is clear as day. If its wired the older way, where will
i find the 4 wire connector ??? cheers 🙂

Hi, cars with VIN numbers with the last six digits with anything higher
than 230967 are later mk 2 cars. See your V5C/logbook or metal plate near
the tax disc / bottom of front windscreen (looking from the outside of the
car) for your VIN number. Registration dates can be a bit scatty!
