What kind of engine you got in this rover mate? Looks different than mine

fatdadproductions says:

Do you not need to have a secondry power supply as not to break terminal
lead circuit? I thought that the ecu, alarm and air suspension etc was all
connected?

clairgaz says:

Never disconnect the positive first this could result in the explosive
charge going off !!!!!!

DamoUK says:

As always great information and instruction. Thank you.

MrTozzpot says:

I was always taught to remove earth lead first and reconnect last…..so
you won’t short anything out!!!!

Jeff Wille says:

Great vid …now here is my concern..Didnt start the rover in a about a
week.drove to work parked it ..now leaving home the rover didnt turn
on..had someone jump start it turned…my question is if I change the
battery myself will there be any problems after..there are no issues with
the rover at the moment..

Thanks so much for this tutorial. I had no idea the hood was set up to
hyperextend. You saved me a lot of cussing.

Tim Pailthorpe says:

Good tip about the bonnet extra raising. But always disconnect earth first
as that will prevent the potentially nasty explosion of hydrogen and acid
in your face (OK rare but possible).

THANKS VERY MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!!! made me look good in front of the old
man. Many Thanks again and keep making good & usefuly videos

powerfulukltd says:

When the positive is disconnected then there is no “potential difference”
so you cannot short anything out. However as I was not taught by a Jedi I
will leave this point up for debate and keep an open mind….I would not
want to contradict the teachings of a master…

powerfulukltd says:

We did not need to enter a radio code or have any problem with the ECU. You
do need to re calibate the steering but this is just left lock to right
lock with ignition on.
