Hi mate, thanks for the advice was not blowing but bought the car at 123500
miles so had to service it!! Was real bad!! All good now but who would of
guessed that filter was there am gonna make a video for all to see thanks
for the reply and help.
Hi mate any idea where the breather filter goes on that engine not the air
filter. Please help!!
nice tutorial id like to add workshop manual suggests you put a rag over
the top of the alternator because as you demonstrated oil can contaminate
the alternator and kill it .

C’mon Buddy, doesn;t need to take the top cover, go straight to the filter
cap.
do u have to siphon out the remaining oil in the filter area
if its fitted with the BMW donkey, u can use a large socket to remove the
oil filter cap, if u havent go a set of oil filter removal caps. the older
freelanders u take the filter off from the bottom with the chain strap.
Is there a top and bottom of the filter element? Which side faced up?

Under the car there is a sump guard, you have to remove that first to get
access to the filter
Just a thought, Is it not a 36mm socket to remove the filter ??

usually it will say TOP. or the manufactures name, faces up. or some will
go both ways.

what is name of the tool you used to open&closing the oil filter
screw?because i want to change my oil filter by myself.to save money from
the mechanics.thanks!
