How to buy a Land Rover Discovery – LR4

#Landrover #LandroverDiscovery #LR3
It´s time to buy a new Mall Crawler because we got bored with our old one. Our LR4 was just too reliable for us and there was no work left to do. We might as well drive a Toyota and drink coffee around the clock. Not with us. Our new LR4 Mall crawler came with all sorts of little issues which we can fix down the road. In this episode we take you along how we picked and bought our new car and did the first easy repairs.
We are not liable for any harm you do to your car, your engine, your surroundings or yourself. Use the information given in this video at your own risk.

We hope you enjoy this episode and thanks for watching,
Vera & Christian

Marcel Arnouts says:

I know it’s still a Land Rover but even LandRover’s are clever… So changing both batteries is a good plan to get the start/stop working again but…, you have to tell your Land Rover that you changed them both. Then the intelligent battery sensor will tell the alternator how much it needs to charge the battery’s . If not, your new battery’s will not get charged properly.

Very interesting stuff. But with the list of issues on the LRD, it is probably too much money?

New project how exciting

Ian Richardson says:

Christian and Vera, the jerky shift could be low oil level in the auto transmission. I’m sure you know how to check the oil level in a ZF box? If not there is plenty of info on line.
Those 8 speed boxes are tough and don’t normally break. Megafush is always a good idea as well.

Mark Spohr says:

Looks like you'll have lots of opportunity to work on all of these problems. Looking forward to future episodes.
(I was secretly hoping that you would buy an older D2 which would really challenge your skills.)

Congratulations on your purchase black look nice with the black rims I bought some black rims for my lr3 just haven't gotten around to have the tires mounted on the rims yet, I'm a truck driver who gone a lot so takes longer for me to simple repairs on my lr3 sadly I will need a new transmission or Remanufactured one , I sent you a viedo to your Instagram if your interested in seeing lr3 it's a work in progress my cooler in console doesn't work turns on but don't cool anything, anyway congrats on your purchase looks nice

It’s a shame most people don’t take pride in their work. Especially at dealerships when a lot of money is exchanged. Every dealership needs a Christian and Vera working on our vehicles. That would be awesome.

another fantastic video, I enjoy your stories so much.

Another awesome video, thanks. New Lead Acid battery, I always put a new battery on a good freshening charge overnight/auto to get all the cells back into step. 1.26sg @25°C ideally. You never know how long that 'new" battery has been on the shelf and car alternator
