Water is indeed a misleading description if you are advising someone who
knows little about cars. They could think a properly draining A/C is a
leaking head gasket.
Very informative video from our Land Rover Technical expert, Jim!
poke around more, this is probably a seal somewhere else, like the valley
seal or the inner portion the valve cover gaskets
When the composite head gasket came out they changed to the stretch bolts.
They are designed to work with this gasket – They hold the torque value
better
I have a 99 Disco 1. I continuously have oil collecting on top of the water
pump and I can’t see from where it is coming. Could this be a head gasket
problem? I have already changed the valve cover gasket and still have the
same problem.
Thank you Guys good to learn 🙂
When you say the obvious sign of head gasket problem is water dripping
underneath your truck, do you mean coolant?
DO YOU HAVE TO RESURFACE THE HEAD’S IF THE GASKET GO’S BAD
Are stretch bolts better than normal bolts?
that’s why… the 3.9 i got , was fix with the same bolts… and it fail
again.. mi dad did it… good thing the rover its all mine now 🙂
You should have them checked, they are prone to warp when the gasket blows
due to the heat
