That type of handbrake is called a 'fly off' and is standard in Porsche. It's also used in lots of competition cars (mainly rally) as I had one in my '77 Ford RS2000. Congrats on the build thus far.
Probably lowe on oil the sub pump systems are tricky

the handbrake lever is the same position and function as every Holden sedan in Australia from 1970 to 1978 lol. hq to hz holden

Get a new battery. Low battery voltages drive computers nuts. May be causing low oil issue
