chasing threads with harbor freight tap and die, on a lambo. SMH.

Kalepsis says:

I hope you're not putting the original bolts back into the car. Many of those fasteners are one-time-use because they stretch when you torque them, and they're only designed to do that ONCE. That's why that bolt broke.

Christian Nunez says:

I work on transmissions regularly. And I commented on another of your videos saying a car is a car is a car. With that being said :

1) I would of changed at least the pilot bearing Lambo or not. That rear seal isn’t leaking fine leave it.

2) that torque spec for the flywheel bolts seems off for those size bolts

3) I treat every car the same but tools are different and parts are different Certain tools you can’t buy cheap. Torque wrenches are one of them. HB torque wrenches are known for being inaccurate. Buy proper grade bolts for your application.

green0one says:

now i'm wondering how many times i've used torx when it was a triple square.

Jeff Hartwig says:

I like reading these post… opinions are like armpits, everyone has a couple and most of them stink lol

Brad Sheppard says:

Probably stated already. I had this happen on VW/Audi builds. They were torque to yield and good for one use only. I bought factory bolts and they torqued out fine.

pav 997 says:

according to my tablebook, a m6x1 screw can take a max of 12-14 NM or 8-12 ftlb of torqe on a 10.9 grade screw.

Paint those calipers white, just like you'r engine air intake

I have been working Military aircraft such as C17,F35 , Black hawk , Apache ..etc overhaul all type of actuators and have experienced with bolts ,torque with loctite and lock wires.

1.First to clarify all nuts and bolt that hold rotating assembly must all have loctite apply before torque . This is for the guy who claimed to be an engineer and his advise was not to use it at all… wrong !!! its made for a purpose . In aerospace we have a safety saying …”jet fighter or aircraft can’t pull over on the cloud, “ therefore be absolutely sure it’s done by following the blue print .

All twin disc clutch cover aka pressure plate are less then 1/4 torque of flywheel I have been in the auto industry building high performance engines for years before working for aerospace .

Regarding the clutch cover for that size you mention it’s impossible to torque 51ft-lb without stretching and snap that bolt off everytime .

For a flywheel with twin disc torque call for 80ft-lb then your pressure plate should be no more then 1.8kg m which is equivalent 13ft-lb +_3 you want to be sure use loctite on all bolts and if you need drill holes in the head of each bolt and lock wire it just like how we do it the aerospace . Remember that’s more then 1 bolts holding 13ft-lb each. I hope this help

please guys don’t criticize this guy who is entertaining all of us by doing what he loved, he is asking for help and not else . Enjoy the show !

Longer episodes these short ones are bullshit

Texas0bserver says:

Check out ECS Tuning or Pelican for the proper bolts on the R8 V10… or ask SPEC or ARP

Texas0bserver says:

Factory torque specs aren't going to work on connecting aftermarket clutches with bolts from home depot which are not engineered whatsoever for the application. Make sure you find a reputable brand of fasteners or you will absolutely regret it. That 70nM sounds like it is for something much different than steel, and Lambo/VAG would be the ones to use a titanium alloy or something of that nature, though I haven't researched it. Good idea to call Lamborghini and ask the OEM supplier… if it's not an exotic material, it could be Febi who make the OEM bolts.
