Terrific video- our Trek Top NX is on its way and I know I will have this
video running (repeatedly) during the install. After spending years
messing around with classic Mustangs (still have my ’65 :^), I decided to
try out a Jeep (’03 that came with just a hard top) for the wife and I to
play around in. Will be checking out your other videos as I learn
about Jeeps! Thanks!

Hey Doc- love the vids. GREAT IDEA. I just ordered my Bestop TrekTop for
my 04 Rubicon. I’m replacing my factory OEM soft-top. My question is-do i
need to use the Bestop tailgate brackets that my existing window tucks into
and holds the tailgate bar, or can i use the ones i have on there from my
old soft top? If i need to use the Bestop ones-do they go into the same
holes as my factory ones? (and sorry if you already answered this!)

Thanks-and keep up the good work!

Love your videos Doc. I also have the top but it is in waiting. It may not
be warm enough yet but there is my question. I had one day where it got to
80degrees but the vinyl did not seem to stretch enough. But on that day, I
may not have had my sunetter top open. I just cant remember. So as it sets
right now, there is probably about 3/4″ in pulling the last zipper and I
don’t want to destroy it. Does this sound about right if the vinyl is still
cold or am I just panicking?

GetaFirearm says:

Can you reinstall your hardtop after installing this?

Simon Banville says:

5:43 .. yeeaaahhhh of course I know what you mean …

jim whitley says:

Well… I nearly vomited with all the movement. (I cannot withstand video
games for that reason..) and this is why tripods were invented. I am
surprised you did not want to use the tripod more in this video, Did we
really need to have a look at the tires while you installed the rear straps
on the back? TOok me 7-10 minutes to figure them out. Since the shot of
putting in your windows was as FAR away as you could possibly be – well I
still have not figured out how to install mine.

Great video! Had one small/huge hiccup in install, we have big speaker pods
so there was extra cursing and it may fit too tight. Haha. Hopefully it’ll
all form fit to them.

peacecat30 says:

Thanks for this excellent video. This answers alot of my questions about
installing a soft top. Could you tell me if the sunrider top needs to be
fastened/secured in anyway when it’s open? It looks like you just laid it
back. Thanks again!

rob Knox says:

Do you have to drill that hole in the body?

Sam Fishman says:

thanks for doing this. It is really helpful in making the decision to buy a
soft top.
