I think he understated how dangerous 2k fumes are. If you’re an amateur,
just avoid them all together. I’m no expert in any way shape or form, but I
do know that the gas you will breath in is basically cyanide which shuts
down your lungs. If you have the wrong type of mask or one that doesn’t
work properly for whatever reason, it’s a huge risk.

You need an air fed mask according to this.

I really think it’s best left to the pros, like this guy in the video seems
to be.

Hi, thank you very much for this video. Can you offer any advice on
compressors and spray guns? A lot of the guns available through eBay claims
to take around 14.5cfm (that’s like over 400L/min of air delivery)! Most of
the compressors available here for a feasible price to me are only the
1-2hp models that offer between 90-120L/min of air delivery (i.e. only
around 4cfm).

He said hey use 2k the acrylic looks like shit. He was like fuck it. Then
the other side of his personality said You lazy bitch just cut and buff
that shit. Hahahahahaha great episode my first time seeing this one.

Hi, I have bought the 1K Base Coat for the C.O.B system from VG’s. I plan
to use the U-POL 2K clear 750 ml kit as my clear coat from VG’s. Which
primer do you recommend? I am painting mostly plastic parts and have done
some very minor repairs with the U-POL david’s filler. I want a durable job
so the paint lasts.

What are the specs of your compressor?

Doug Mills says:

There is A type slow thinners for acrylic can be used on last coats for a
better shine also.
I thought this video was a good example for people who don’t know much
good video.

HmsSulaco says:

Hi will you clean you gun when you wait the 10 min between layers, thanks
for sharing mate..

babybaby says:

you need spray booth for 2 pack if you want to do it safe. this is very
hard to find for a lot of people

alex rose says:

that’s awesome, i was always worried if there’d be a difference in finish
between high quality paint and cheaper stuff, they end up looking about
identical, well in the video anyway, would you get the same kind of finish
from the aerosol cans or would you need the spray gun to get it good?

Jack Wintzloff says:

I have a vibrating electric buffer, would this do an alright job on an
acrylic clear? or is a rotary buffer necessary

blade265au says:

Just a couple of issues? I have, 1 the first sanding of the dents and
scratches where bare metal is should have been twice the size and more
feathering of the remaining paint around the bare metal. 2 using your hand
to color sand is a no no, at the very least a soft block should of been
used.

Ivan Petryaev says:

What is the reason of coating whole door with primer? just sand old paint
omg?

krazypherty2 says:

i wish spraying a panel in 2K and acrylic took 15 minutes…

cologne2792 says:

Thanks for that. Always pays to ask someone who knows !

santiago santiago says:

what nozzle sizes should i use for the paint and clear for 2 Pack?

customspraymods says:

Yeah you can sand it with 1500g wet sandpaper and buff it by hand or there
are these small buff pads you can put on a drill. I used it in the bumper
painting video. A cut and polish should be fine.

katrina Angel says:

ten ,or fifteen mins

AeMuslc says:

Yes, 1K stuff… So? do i still need hardener for primer & clear?

twistedmr says:

great video, the acrylic still doesn’t look as good as the twopack even
after a rub.

marc hourigan says:

it will bud but if u think the 1500 ant getting it out like u hope use 800
then 1500 n 2000n then 2500g n then buff it will look like glass

tintinwtsnowy says:

thanks man nice Vid….well done

LEFTJEFFA says:

wait, wait….doesn’t acrylic start to crack (after a while) , even if done
pro? Please let me know

wombatau says:

To anyone following the comment thread, when I said basecoat, I was
referring to Concept branded 900 and No Mix series basecoat paints. Part
numbers of the clears I am referring to are: Concept Iso Free 2k Clear
[A07C/ISO2KCLR5 (5L kit)], HiChem/Motospray 2 Pack Iso Free Clear [IFC3
(Clear), 2PIFH1 (Hardener), 4L kit]. Datasheets are available on the
respective websites, so don’t just take my word for it 😉

c00smeen says:

hey…what kind of paint gun are u using? normal or HVLP? wich is better
and why? what about the compressor? how big is enough for a HVLP for
example? how about for a normal paint gun? is a 50Liter ok or do I need a
bigger one? thanks

freestyla101 says:

so will those swirlmarks caused by the buffing come back if the polish is
washed off?

FRIZCO says:

great videos man!!!…so detailed love it!!!

madmick82 says:

Is one going to be more resilient to scratches and chips than the other?

Lambertius says:

I’ve been wondering for a long time; do 2K paints last longer, are they
more durable? I painted some badly sunburnt bumpers on my car black using a
spray pack, but after a few months the gloss wore off the paint. I’ve
redone some with a few top coats of clear gloss to see if that improves how
hard wearing the paint is. I’ve considered getting a paint shop to do the
bumpers in in 2K if it is more hard wearing, but if there is a way to do it
DIY without it wearing off that would be best! Thoughts?

asdreww says:

I’ve watched all your paint tutorial videos and I just want to say they are
awesome! My 1995 MR2 desperately needs a respray, I think it had a cheap
blowover 7 years ago and alot of the lacquer has peeled. I’m getting
motivated to try painting it myself!

Monkriss says:

you just answered a question for me on another video lol. but… i have a
dent on my car. but i dont want to respray the whole panel. would it work
just the same? or would it look obvious with the colour differences with
the rest of the panel and rest of the car?

akltom says:

thanks for the video, I’m going to use acrylic to spray my van, will 1.7mm
gun be ok to do all the job?

Russell Churchett says:

Can you sand between the base colour and clear? Does it help reduce peel?

simonsaysgodisgreat says:

dude it is only the colour coat that is waterborne, it should still have a
2k clear put over the top of the colour.

Mike Hunt says:

what colour was that? im looking at doing my car something like that colour.
