Oh, be careful of the bumper paintwork when prying out the headlight
assembly. Changed both main bulbs, and the two tiny bulbs as well. Grand
total – SGD10.60!
A tip: pull the light TOWARDS you, not up. That will help (the clip is
horizontal, not vertical). Thx very much, Steen! I read through the book
and it was absolutely unclear. With your help I did it in 15′ and saved
some money!
Lift it up and against your self. Do exactly as shown in the video, and it
does take a bit of a muscle work but have faith and it will eventually pop
up.
Dear Steen, I try it again but the temperature outside was higher (+7 C)
and now no problem at all. Many thanks and happy new year!!! Brgds, Remco

Great video. I have a 2008 and it was almost the same, so this video is
usefull for that model as well. I had problems with snapping it out as
everyone else have had, but it’s just a matter of pulling it harder. At
some point when you pull, you’ll think: “Oh shit. If I pull any harder I’ll
break it” Just pull harder. It will pop out before breaking.
DK: Genialt! Havde skruerne af engang tidligere, men indtil jeg så dig
virkelig løfte til, troede jeg ikke på det 🙂 EN: Thanks! It worked like a
charm!
For those struggling to get the ‘clicks’ have faith and pull harder. Our’s
is a 2005 model and once you have removed the screws there’s just two
plastic U shaped clips at the bottom and back of the lights. That’s what
you’re pulling on so just pull until they come out. Try pulling at ~45deg
angle up to your chest. Thanks, Steen. This worked for me. If it wasn’t for
your video I would have given up and assumed there was a bolt I missed.
Thanks Steen for video, and all the comments that followed. If not for you
guys, I would never have dared to do what I did. My fingers couldn’t take
it anymore. So I used two open spanners to PRY it out!
Side light bulb on Picanto went after 8-years so I checked here and found
this video which saved me almost £14 at a well known car/bike shop in the
UK, and that was just for fitting them. I did exactly as shown in the
video, and it does take a bit of a heave but have faith and it will
eventually pop; either that or your back. Putting it back together was a
bit trickier but once the bolts were tight I pushed it into place and then
fully tightened up….job done! 15-mins tops.
Wonderfull thanks for the explanation. I’ll hope is it the same for the
other side?
What type are the bulbs? Are they h4? I’ve got an 06 picanto and want to
get a hid kit for it. :/
thank you very much. This will do the trick…..
Danke!
I’m really bad with tools. What kind of wrench are you using in the
video?
thanks, hepfull!!!!
Thanks a lot
Thanks a lot! It worked like a charm.

Many thanks for this. Without it I don’t think I would have got the unit
out.
Mañana lo intento, muchas gracias por el vídeo.
Has given me the incentive to change my bulbs , thank you ..

Thanks for the extremely useful explanation on how to remove the casing! We
were scratching our heads for a while there.
Hi Steen, Thanks for your share~ I really know how to remove my wife’s
Picanto headlight.
Gracias amigo, me salvaste el día! 😉
