By the way. All you ha ego do is remove the tail light from the back. No need remove assembly. I have to because the bulb broke and I hVe to fish it out. If you're just replacing the bulb, simply twist it out. Push in on the bulb and turn and it pops out. When you replacer the bulb, it only goes in one way. If it doesn't push in turn it around. No need to remove the assembly if you're just replacing the bulb.
My dad was an alcoholic when I was growing up and I've learned that most people that drink, drive around it cars that have been damaged due to DUI. I can see 1/4 gap at the bottom of your tail light in the video, I can also see where the rear panel doesn't match the panel at the very edge of the wheel well. So my guess is the back of the car has been rear ended as damage to the back of the car is clearly visable. I was an auto mechanic for 25 years, and with that much gap around your left rear tail light assy, I can guess that you have water intrusion into the trunk that when dry creates mold and a very nasty smell. Changing the bulbs in the rear of the body (not the trunk lights) is very easy without going through all the work of taking the light out. Good Luck (BEERMASTER) and try to keep it between the white lines when driving.
The small carpeted access door at the light location makes it easy to access replacing the bulb without going through the hassle of taking the whole tail light assy out.
That's a lot of trouble to change that bulb. I have a 2011 optima and do it all from the trunk panel. I can literally change the bulb in less than 30 seconds. No need to unbolt the whole assembly.
Thanks Brother!
Thanks Beermaster!
You can do it all from inside the trunk panel without taking the whole light off
How about the other side there something holding it not the three bolts
You’ve saved me a lot of time by making this video. Thank you.

Three are three or four bolts on it. Let's find out. Skips past. Well we have three out and it's still not coming out. Absolutely zero help.
Awesome job right to the point
Cheers mate!

Thanks man. Practical and to-the-point video. I gotta change out my brake lights and this helped me out a ton!
