This tutorial mainly applies to the Kia Forte but can also be applied to other cars which may utilise a similar locking mechanism. It is to repair a glove box that cannot be closed anymore because the locking mechanism won’t lock into position due to loss of spring action. It is not a very clean solution but beats buying an OEM replacement which costs a few hundred.
I actually took this video months ago, around November 2018 to be exact, but only got around to creating this tutorial today, and I am happy to report that until today the glove box in my Forte still works like a charm.
