Bro you are my new hero!!!! thanks so much for this video, I finally can
take my rear seat apart to install my aftermarket amp wires. I have a
signal processor that suppose to tap into speaker wires, do you have any
vids on how to do this? thanks again!

fondupot says:

10-4. I knew that. I just figured there might be some slightly different
interior engineering. I will update my description to say its confirmed
same on the sonata! thanks!

mommasweety says:

I love your zelda ringtone, ;D

Mike Rhynold says:

Thank you so much for making this video! I recently installed an amplifier
in my 2011 Sonata and I think I didn’t choose the best ground location
because I have a little bit of noise. I think I chose a spot that is not
the actual chassis of the car. Someone recommended I look for the bolts
that hold the rear seats in place. The bolts you mention around the 1:54
mark I think are perfect. Do you think they would provide a good ground
(sanding to bare metal of course)?

thepatester says:

Thanks for the video! I was installing some custom seat covers and was
having a hard time figuring out how I was going to loop the straps under
the bottom of the seats.

fondupot says:

@tom25pa did you watch the video? I explained that it might be useful for
people wanting to upgrade their stereo. Its helpful for some people.

fondupot says:

I actually don’t know. I would think they would have similar mounting
hardware. But where you will run into a problem is the power for the SX
seats. I think all SX seats are power. And LX seats are probably manual
adjust. So even if you were able to swap them, you would have to issue
power to them some way to make them work. Good luck!

fondupot says:

Hey glad to be of help!

fondupot says:

Thanks man. I thought about doing a sound system. But I am unsure at the
moment. I would be sure to document it though.

fondupot says:

@keen2461 Glad I could help. Good luck with the system.

fondupot says:

Glad to help!

fondupot says:

Glad the video was able to help. Is your car a Sonata? or and Optima? I
didn’t realize that this would work for Sonatas too, I would have to update
my description.

Brian Timm says:

Thank you for the video, I am going to install seat covers to dog proof the
backseat. Had to lol at your reason for taking the backseat out.

Rick Borchert says:

Thanks. I was trying to figure out how to get those back seat side trim
pieces off so I could run a wire from the trunk to the battery, and the
Hyundai support site showed me how to remove everything but that.

tom25pa says:

so the seat backs arent heated? just the seat bottoms?? on the kia website
they show the seat back heated also.

Alexander Lotz says:

Hey man how heavy were the seats when you took them out? significant
weight?

Roger Dado says:

Hey Great Video. I have a question I hope you or any one else here can help
with. Do you know if the front seats of a SX model will fit in place of a
LX ,

fondupot says:

Hey glad to help. Sorry I dont have any videos on how to tap into the
signal wires. But there is a website calla kiatechinfo (google it) that you
can make an account and find the diagrams that will show you all the wires
and what each one is for.

Roger Maestas says:

subscribed 🙂 i got an optima SX happy to see your mod videos! i want to do
a sound system to.. make a good tutorial? 🙂

fondupot says:

Not heavy at all. the seat backs might have been 30-40 lbs and the seat
bottom maybe 20-30. Not really heavy.

Rick Borchert says:

It is a 2011 Sonata GL. I think Optimas and Sonatas are basically the same
cars other than cosmetic differences.Kia and Hyundai are sister companies
like Dodge and Plymouth used to be, or Chevy and Pontiac.

Medasculo Moreno says:

Thanks for sharing this info. I’ll be installing a new subwoofer on my
Optima soon and needed to know how to remove the seats and the back tray.

MrAUFANATIC says:

Where i work we make these seats… U have the black sports… others are
black napa, white napa, beige cloth, & gray clothes…. The big part of the
seat you took out was the 60%, the one on the left is 40%. I have actually
made the cushion too. All of it is amazing while building these seats. Im
hoping to get a the one with white napa…

fondupot says:

@tom25pa doesnt seem to be. there were no harnesses going to the seat
backs.
