That is correct sir!
Cleaning and spraying down all of your exposed rubber parts with silicone
lubricant will also help prolong the life of rubber parts.
@tomdusold…thanks for your kind words sir! how did the brake job go?
Why do you disconnect the brake line? Now you have a mess, you have to
bleed out all the air and refill the brake fluid reservoir. Take a large
flathead and compress the cylinders down then remove the caliper. As long
as you compress them all the way down the new pads will fit. You tie the
caliper out of the way with a coat hanger. No mess No air No dirt in your
reservoir.
Great video. Getting ready to replace the rotors this weekend, nice to see
it done by a “real guy” with “real tools.” Not the book or factory version.
@Crystal Flaiz, It is necessary to remove the brake line when changing the
calipers. Also, this video was instruction on Brake OVERHAUL, not brake pad
replacement. Hope that helps answer your questions. Thanks for the comment
though?
Great video. VERY helpful infomation.
@83Goldwinger…agreed! thanks for your comment!
@UltraDamaja, most auto repairs require more than just an instruction
manual, happy to have helped….and thanks for your comment!
@Heymel2001…if the edges are smooth and not caked with dirt or corrosion,
no tap on the socket is needed…but thanks for your comment anyways!
You shouldn’t have to tap on a sae socket…use the right metric one =o)
