Strange… we have a 2004 with over 200K miles. We just replaced the main
and cam seals, with the timing belt change. Besides that – the engine has
been solid. BUT – like any minivan, working on the backside of the engine
(spark plugs, O2 sensor) is a PITA. Last one since the kids are leaving –
yeah!
I have a Kia Sedona and it’s a piece of crap. With the KIA ever since I
bought it the engine light has been on nonstop. No matter how many times
Ive brought the piece of crap in to the dealer to get it fixed they did
nothing to fix the problem.
I guess my auto zone special belt tensioner tool is not applicable for my
2002 Kia. Thanks for a simple video. I heard 14mm so I guess I have a
starting point. How is the final tension determined? Does the adjustment
bolt stop at some point or is it just an educated guess?
That’s a TERRIBLE van.. my pastor used to have one and it’d had its motor
swapped 4 times within 6 years and finally it self-combusted itself. Never
buy that van.
Awesome video, short and to the point. My pulley fell off going down the
road. I was having trouble putting a new one back on. Our mechanic was out
of town. I attempted myself, no problem. Take off tire, remove plastic
cover, easy access to belts and pulleys. Tighten pulley down until belt has
nice tension. I even added a little soap on the sides of belt for a little
pm. Thank you for your video. Terry
I have an 05 Sedona with 305k on it and it still purrs like a kitten and
doesn’t tap at all. Keep the oil changed and you should have no problem
doing the same.
@renski1792 your pastor must not care for his vehicles then, we have a 2005
and after 78,000 miles, we are still on the same engine, and everything is
still in-tact. Had it for 5 years.
my wife bought a kia sedona and it sucks, im gettin a divorce cause she
didnt buy a chevy, lol dude it sucks when you buy a alternator and the belt
and auto zone doesny have any thing on routing the belt or tighting the
belt, we have you tube rock on scottsterdotcom. took me all day with these
idiots and 1o minutes wacthing your video thanks.
Yeah, surely a motor mount. I’m guessing top right mount or if you are
standing in front of the van looking under the hood, top left. It’s common
because that motor throws a lot of torque.
You guys rock! I was approaching this all wrong for 3 hours! Watched your
video and had it done in 30 minutes! Thanks a million!!! Keep making the
videos! Also, what is the music? I really dig the music!
@uakronsam116 idk how you can abuse a van but i think it depends on the
environment as well. it ended up self-combusting itself. idk how that
happened ha
Hey there just saw ur video great work 5* come stop by my page when u get
sometime subscribe me and my friend (OnlineFitness4U) we will subscribe
back right away Would like to get to know more people thanks 🙂
@uakronsam116 i wouldn’t say that. Vehicles sometimes DO come with
problems, and again Kia used to be a crappy company.

@renski1792 Like I said, NO vehicle is so bad that you go through 4
PROPERLY MAINTAINED engines in 6 years, just no possible way.
I have a 2005 kia sedona, how many belts is in this car? and what do each
one of them contro?

Neither does ours. Just an issue with a motor mount or something causing a
rumbling noise when the engine is cold and in gear.

Thank you SO much. you just saved my butt. could not figure out how to take
the tension off the belt
Thanks for the video, *shakes head* been doing it wrong and finally decided
to look it up
@uakronsam116 I dont know but Kia did make bad vehicles back then. It’s
really not that surprising.
@renski1792 actually it kind of is surprising, NO vehicle is that bad that
they go through 4 engines in 6 years unless neglected
The music in this thing is obnoxious 😀

This is a good video. Did same on 2003 and wish had found it sooner. Not
much repair help on a Kia! Thanks!
