Wrangler death wobble FIX!

Wrangler death wobble FIX!

Amazon source for the replacement bolts, nuts, and washers is https://amzn.to/2EKLWrE

I fix my 2007 Jeep Wrangler’s death wobble with this simple fix of replacing the front track bar 14 mm stock bolts with 9/16″ bolts. I show actual measurements to compare old vs new bolt diameters. I have owned this Wrangler since brand new and did a 2.5″ suspension lift at around 10,000 miles. Current mileage is 115,000 miles. I drive on SE Michigan roads which are pure crap and full of bumps and potholes!!

It turned out after this video I replaced the steering shock absorber. It was COMPLETELY SHOT and not doing a thing to help dampen the bumps! So after I replaced that, my steering system was LIKE NEW, if not better 🙂

Tools I used for this fix:
1. Penetrating lubricant to loosen old bolts (WD40, PB Blaster, Liquid Wrench, etc) https://amzn.to/2J9VFq7
2. Breaker bar and sockets https://amzn.to/2EzMZLd
3. Crescent wrench https://amzn.to/2q3tCQt
4. Torque wrench – new bolts should be torqued to 125 ft-lbs https://amzn.to/2R6mf6p

18" rim ? They look like 17s .

Loyd Courson says:

on the link on the right side of the Axle there is a bushing and my wobble was cased by the bushing moving in and out of the press in mount on the axle the bushing rusted enough that it made the bushing smaller and not hold into the pressed in hole!!
