Primer, sand, base, sand, clear, wet sand and then polishing. But your goal was to not make it worse.
That clear got sucked up by the base coat. Needed about three more coats of clear.

@JeepSolid How long after you put on those four coats of paint before you did that wet sanding with 1500? Like four hours or a day or…?
