Hi Jeepgirl, I’ve 1986 jeep XJ with Dana 35 and will be buy a ALLOY USA axle shaft, Do you know if I can put a 32´s tire with this shaft, in this moment I use 30.5″ tires. Thank for the information

VERMONT JEEPGIRL says:

Thanks for watching and your correct there are no inner seals in the rear d35, however I added them when I rebuilt the front d30 and added the inner seals. I have pics of it on my FB page.

How is the new jeep coming along? Any video of that one? You have a good show and thank you for your videos.

Erick Johnson says:

Not to argue but, a Dana 35 rear axle does not have inner axle seals, only axle shaft bearing and axle shaft seal. If you have slide hammer use it. I have found that a slide hammer wrecks the bearing by knocking a roller out then all the rollers fall out. One is left trying to grap the outter race to remove what is left, which is a big pain.

VERMONT JEEPGIRL says:

How is that? Im not understanding saving money using a fence post pipe? I wouldn’t want to knock out my inner seals? When I own 3 different types of slide hammers.

Erick Johnson says:

Good job. I always remove axle bearings with a pipe or long fence post. With carrier out stick fence post through tube and knock bearing out from back side. You don’t need a puller that way and save money.
