Is that red thing an axle seal? I noticed it wasn’t in part one, but was
there at the beginning of this one.

Brett Woods says:

I’m pretty sure that Snapon makes JK specific tool kit.

Lorenzo Marsh says:

First off great video. I’m currently trying to cure the DW on my 07 JK.
I’ve replaced my drag, and tie rod ends, and put on a dual steering
stabilizer. Next step is Ball joints and possibly track bar. Question I
have is do you suggest any specific brand for Ball joints, and does the
track bar always need to be replaced after installing a 4″ lift? Thanks,
Lorenzo from TX

mudhound0530 says:

is there a receiving cup that you do not have to use washers to level it
out. I have searched high and low for this.

JeepSWAG says:

I don’t recall if I was dealing with DW at the time. I’ve done upgraded tie
rod, track bar drop brackets and more to fix DW at different times.

chefron8 says:

Thanks. Great videos. The instructions that come with this Harbor Freight
tool aren’t very clear so your video helped a lot.

Lance says:

no what i mean is, did it fix yours?

woodykak says:

@kombibus Search for “Four Wheel Drive Ball Joint Service Kit”

cjhawk67 says:

Damn all you guys and your air and power tools i have to do everything with
brute strength haha good video man

kombibus says:

I wonder if this will work on the VW Baywindow Van?

Lance says:

Roger that thx from America

cardenasrc51 says:

Do you have any torque listings for the knuckle castle nuts, hub bolts, and
caliper bolts?

JeepSWAG says:

There are many factors involved with death wobble. Ball Joints may or may
not be one of them. So the answer is, “sometimes”.

woodykak says:

I use the Superior Axle and Gear Axle Seals. They have a rubber grease
holder on them. There is no greasing the stock axles. Just clean them while
they are out and that’s it. I used standard bearing grease on the Axle
Seals.

woodykak says:

@ausi4x4 The casting is not directly flat to where the tool needs to be
placed. The washer helps align the tool so it doesn’t push out to the side.

Lance says:

death wobble cured?

TheMechanicalchaos says:

@jonnyracerx Thats a good idea, I wonder if it works?

MrBashian says:

Excellent demo Woods. Helped me out a lot. We’re headed to Coyote Lake up
North and it’s time for the Ball Joints to be replaced. Happy Wheelin

Scadashaggy says:

Thank you for the awesome video. I’m going to tackle this, this weekend.
Between the first video and the last it appears you’ve cleaned and lubed
the shaft entryway. Did you replace any parts there? Do you recommend a
particular grease?

kombibus says:

Which HF tool kit did you buy? I have a set of ball joints I have to
replace.

Jonny Racer says:

Wouldn’t it be easier the freeze the Ball joints, then heat up the axle a
bit with a torch, and slide them in?
