It is amazing how no matter what the video is about, tons of people pop up to make comments about how much better they could do. Then why did you search the video in the first place? Owning a jeep means learning to weld. I have a 93′ that has a couple of spots on the frame I am about to fix. When I am done it may look close to something like this and I am fine with that. It is under the vehicle. Don’t care about looks, will it hold up is all I care about. Good Job guy.
Good job, but bad welds, hope it held up, I have an ’82 cj7, has some bad rust, I will be doing a lot of this, but with better welds. I think you definitely need more practice before tackling a job like that.
the majestrate judge says there is nothing wrong with that frame has a month old state inspection sticker on it and it just passed state inspection see the newburyport magistrate Lawrence something the 3rd….
Let’s just say I were going to do this to my 97 tj… would that kind of repair hold up off road? Would you suggest drilling drainage holes to prevent further rusting?
did u just have a flux welder. and if u got smaller wire, just increase the wire speed and heat?. anyway. nice to see u put the time into it, instead of doing what most people do and junk it.
this frame is going to be just fine now nothing wrong with the job he did for what the jeep was im doing the same thing to a isuzu frame is gone just about as bad as this one if not worse and if you box the frame like this its basicaly like new again the new steel will take the force as long as the welds hold
OK if you do get a New frame for $1200.00 Bucks, (like ANYONE wants to spend that), , Its only what, , 15 minutes to Install it right ? ? ?
Oh no wait, , its like a WEEK , and thats if you dont snap one of HOW MANY rusted bolts that are under most Jeeps ? – – Looks like a Budget Job but some people thats all they can do , , give the guy credit for trying it at least
hey, good work, but you can go on ebay and but a use frame of a jeep and put all the parts from yours , i think it will be time well spend.
whats the cost to fix that?
LOSER!

Mig welding with too fast speed, thats why the welds look like rabbit turds. Else you used flux core.
Looks like a Toyota quality frame.
Did that pass inspection? Do you know

major booger welds
woa, thats a liability waiting to bite you in the ass if it hasnt already.
Wow. I would not make a vid of these welds…
It looks like you welded it with your ass
take it to junk yard lol
idk why they make them boxed frames just stupid.
usually you only weld 2 sides (top and bottom) doing the other two sides will just make a point for it to crack ? just my $ .02
thats what i was hoping to find out

at what point do you just say eff it and get another jeep… this looks like it was a nightmare. =parts jeep, what’s good anyways…
sad that my 97 is just as bad…
That is scary work!
that doesnt look safe
also did you use something to bend the steel?

its worse on my car:P part of the frame is rusted gone like 1:16 , i gotta fix it this month to pass inspection:S
i dont care if the welds are bad or look shity. this jeep just got a whole new chance at life 😀
Great in theory… terrible execution. Next time mess up some scrap dialing in instead of destroying a frame… No penetration or consistency.
yeah because every one has 1200 dollars to drop on a new frame

i feel so much better about my little dollar bill sized rust problem now, not even 2:00 in lol
