Wouldn’t t h I

Brent Spence says:

Stupid tablet! anyway … Wouldn’t this be the perfect time to change out
the axle joint and put a new axle seal or is it way more work than it
appears to be here?

tainterlakeisgreen says:

I like the video, but I have one suggestion. When using a torque wrench you
need to use a “slow and steady” motion, rather than jerking the wrench
while tightening. Might tackle my ball joints this weekend.. thanks for the
video, very helpful.

Great video I will be refering to all your videos when needed.Have a 92
Cherokee xj 127000 only .Thanks again

dunebasher1971 says:

Especially since nobody seems to sell the angled adapters for the Dana axle
on their own at a sensible price. Either you have to buy a whole adapter
set that includes them for about $60-70, or the specific 2-piece Jeep/Dodge
set for about the same price.

@OHHEYO yes it did, but I knew the joint was bad and was probably causing
it. Check out some of my other videos that show the bad joint before taking
everything apart: watch?v=3P2gjTPJ_kQ watch?v=0O4A0o-2syE

jar3817 says:

That’s just a standard1/2″ drive torque wrench, you should be able to get
one at any parts store. This is available at advanceautoparts . com for
like $28

Nick Guy says:

Really like the washer shim idea. It is a pain to drive the new joints in
straight.

Roadsurfergo says:

Great job, Thanks for the detailed work.

killrroyale says:

great vid i will b refering to it when i do mine soon on my 97 tj

@PMCcty 75ft-lbs

cronos68 says:

thanks !!! great video. I would just add (as you did here) to shim this
correctly (upper ball joint). I had to restart a few times to get the ball
joint in straight. I think there is a jeep adapter for this that you might
not be able to get from the loaner press. Just makes it much easier to push
in straight :-).

jar3817 says:

@chumperdink LPS3 is just a rust inhibitor. You spray it on bolts or
whatever and it dries into a waxy film that keeps the water (and salt) out.
FANTASTIC stuff…. lpslabs.com/product_pg/corrosion_pg/LPS3.html

OHHEYO says:

did it fix your death wobble ? i am just getting started on my DW.

jason de monto says:

I have replaced everything but the ball joints trying to fix my DW issues
thanks for the vid this is my next fix!

jar3817 says:

I just happen to be! I only swing wrenches as a hobby.

TheJeepxj17 says:

jar3817 says:

Glad to help. I have to do my other side once the weather warms up. Good
luck on yours!

jar3817 says:

@Roadsurfergo thanks, hope you enjoyed it!

PMCcty says:

fetymann says:

liz valo says:

very helpful video. had a harder time getting the upper in. eventually got
it in though and had to do the lower differently because i put the upper in
first but all worked out great. thanks

hockeyguyx28 says:

Hello. I have a 99 cherokee sport that is making a popping or clicking
sound when I turn into a parking place or slow turn and it seems to be
coming from the drivers side front wheel area. I already replaced the u
joint and it didn’t fix the prob. Just wondering if you had the clicking or
popping with the bad ball joints???

tunami2722 says:

hey i just replace my balljoint but i dint take my jeep to alligtment
should i take it ?

anythinggoesforthis says:
