I have to say that I am impressed, both with your ability AND your
presentation. I have a 2001 Cherokee Limited yadda yadda (I have a 92
Limited also).. anway, thanks, when I do this I will use your video for
guidance!!!

Wu Ron says:

nice video, thanks. i got a ’95 4.0HO the stock injectors are 53030343. can
you tell me which kind of 4 holes injector fits my car? thanks!

Curt Bush says:

Did this happen to improve your performance other than functioning properly
as they should?

TheJ20jeepster says:

It’s going to depend on the year. Grounding out the positive terminal is
just a faster way of re-setting the ECU. You can just leave the battery
disconnected for an hour or so. As for the ignition, I was turning it on
and off to charge the fuel rial. If you don’t do this it will just take a
long time to crank for the first time. The fuel pump only runs a short time
to charge the line when you turn the key. That is why I had to do it a few
times. Thanks for watching!

Chris Wilson says:

You don’t need vents OR a intake. You need to make a return line off the
fuel rail that goes back to the tank. In 96 they stopped putting them on
there, and the fuel rail builds pressure when it’s hot, and not only boils
it, but essentially pressure cooks it. Go on CherokeeForum, they have some
good write ups as to how to make a return line. I did this on my 96 Grand
cherokee 4.0L with the same problem as you.

William Macaluso says:

Is holding the negative terminal on the positive terminal really that
necessary? What was your reason behind it? and, should I turn the ignition
on and off etc or just leave it on? ‘m doing this up in college and dont
wanna be screwed by doing the install wrong

TheJ20jeepster says:

Hey, Glad you were able to use it! Thanks for commenting!

TheJ20jeepster says:

Yes it did. The most noticeable difference was how quick it is to start
now. Even on below freezing nights it firs right up.

TheJ20jeepster says:

I don’t think your problem is fuel getting too hot. Sounds it could be an
electrical issue. I would first check your distributor cap/rotor and plug
wires and Temp sensor. Any codes? Your intake should be fine. As for the
injectors….only ones you can use on a 00-01 are the ford xf2e-c4b’s FORD
E-250 ECONOLINE 1999 4.2l v6 FORD F-150 (1999 – 2002) 4.2l v6 FORD MUSTANG
(2001 – 2004) 3.8l v6 FORD RANGER (2001 – 2004) FORD RANGER EDGE (2001 –
2004) FORD TAURUS (2001 – 2005) Thanks for watching!

teh shoemaker says:

did you notice any differences? on the forums it’s said to improve idle,
but did you notice anything else? mileage improvements? thanks! i have a 96
classic and ive been thinking about doing this eventually

jason butler says:

sweet. i need to do this on my 99 xj.

TheJ20jeepster says:

Thanks for Watching! Yeah, I have not had a chance to check mileage yet
because I had a cat out giving me bad o2 readings. The biggest thing I
noticed was the quick start up on cold mornings! Well worth it to me just
for that where I live. Don’t have to worry about the battery living through
a cold morning start up. That baby fires up on the first or second tern
over every time now!

I have a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4.0, I am having a problem with fuel
getting over heated and causing it to miss alot when i restart engine while
on a hot day, ( LOT OF HEAT TRAPPED UNDER MY HOOD) will a hood vent salve
that problem? is there a different intake i need to buy ? if so , what
intake should i get? what year and kind of car will i need to buy fuel
injectors for if i do the fuel injector swap out like what you did IN THIS
VIDEO ? Thanks.

BrianLeeUSA73 says:

Thanks for the info, I will have to make a video and show you what is
happening i think, I have replaced the coil thing it was a long rail that
went on top each plug. I seen on google that the 2001 jeep had problems
with fuel combusting too soon because of a bad intake design so jeep
changed it but i dont know what they changed it too? have you heard about
that problem?

Chris Smith says:

this is bad info. the mis after heat soak is a known problem in late model
jeep xj’s

Charlie Heaton says:

NICE!!! Whatt are ft lbs on dodge neon injectors compared to 5.0 Mustang? I
thought 5.0 injectors were 29 lbs vs 19 lbs from 96 xj..I have 2 96 xjs
been thinking of doing fuel injector swap..One xj has 264,000 miles and
other has 275,000…both are running good.

TheJ20jeepster says:

Yes, I think that is the norm for the stock 4.0. Too much liquid fuel in
the cold chamber. Those stock injectors just shoot a stream more than a
mist like it should be. If you are thinking about doing it, check the
“cherokeeforum” There is usually someone selling them on there for a good
price. That’s where I got mine since my junk yard did not have the right
Neons.

William Macaluso says:

Doing this on my 2001 Grand 4.0 next week. Can’t wait to feel the
difference of 1 hole to 4 holes. Thanks for the clear video!

fimportsv8 says:

Your slow lol what have had them done already with out editing

teh shoemaker says:

interesting, mine usually fires on the 4th or 5th turn whether it’s cold or
not, so this might be a player, thanks for the response
