Great video. Exactly what i was looking for. I have an ’05 Grand
Cherokee, very informative.
Thanks bro great video, I have a 05 Cherokee. Deff gonna get those shocks
because my stock ones are shot. Thank you!!
“Be safe jacking up your vehicle”? You got under your Jeep with nothing but
the stock scissor jack. Never ever ever do that. Lift or no, your jeep is
coming down if that cheap scissor jack goes or gets kicked out, that’s
gonna either break something serious on you, or kill you. One of the two.
If you want to leave your jack in there, use jack stands too. Redundancy
can save your life.
You got balls for trusting that thing.
I appreciate it! Thanks for watching!
What happend to the Rough Counry Budget Lift video?
Coil overs, how much more expensive than regular shocks?
2″ lift with a 1.5″ spacers. There is rubbing in the front, but a big
hammer and some scissors fixed that!
Thanks! I try to keep it up!
Hahaha, I was like good video , then I realised the name….. Do a rear
coil spring video….save me 🙂
Hey Buddy. lol I had Just got into looking for some shocks on my Jeep
Commander ,and I came across your video when I found the Leveling Shocks,
lol too funny. lol But hey Great Video and you beat me to the punch. But
hey quick question. I’m always referencing the videos you’ve done on all
the Oil Fluid Changes, and I noticed that you didn’t use any royal purple
in the Transfer and Transmission. Do you recommend going purple with those
two or sticking to Mopar brand from the Dealer?
are there any shocks out there that will lift your truck or jeep, like not
the full suspension kit, but just the shocks? is it possible to find shocks
that are bigger than your stock shocks, i want to have a little more lift
on my truck. Thank you
58643 are ment for a F-150 but will work with the WK and you get an extra
1″ of lift in the rear
@jbrunsonjr i just got my first car a 1991 firebird 3,1L V6
Nice video on 01 comment I noticed the shop rod
Finally someone who shows exactly what needs to be done explains and takes
their time, hats off, I changed mine due to watching your video thank you!!
Do you have a video for the front?
haha i cancelled the rustys and went with the rubicon express :o! it was a
little more expensive but well worth the money
@jbrunsonjr yeah in July I take range but I already have my permit!
Thanks. Never changed shocks before, now I feel I can do it myself! Thanks.
You clean it up before the video? That thing is spotless!
picking up a 3 inch rustys liftkit for my xj this week 😮 stoked trying to
get some ideas for shocks but i think im gonna stick with the performance
shocks that come with it.
Wow! Great video! I was surprised the shock was so easy to take out. I
should have done that on my Expe long ago.
@alanator25 – Yeah, it really didn’t take too long to knock it out, but i
tell you what, my truck handles like a brand new SUV in the back. Now I
want to do the front BAAAAD!
Never mind what is was is Amazon said it fit my 2001 JGC but in small print
it said XJ chass . My jeep is a WJ chass. I don’t get why amazon said it
would fit being from my understanding XJ was the older jeeps 1999 and
before . Anyways I had to return them . Thanks
If I’m not mistaken…do I see a Red Mounty in the reflection of your
window?
@Dafatdaddy From what I have been told, those two were already synthetics,
so considering how much a tranny is, I decided to keep with the factory
stuff. I would probably do more research before swapping in the RP stuff
for the factory, and also ask others if they have done it or not…
Thanks for watching! Glad it helped!
That Was really helpfully thanks man great job. Maybe you know batter witch
shock has the Best quality if you could let me know that be awesome my man,
I am from Canada Toronto thanks in Advance
i have the same design shocks that im about to install in my f150 i was
wondering how it handles under load? as well as empty on dirt roads? i live
on a dirt road and on my way to work i drive some 5 miles on dirt roads.
difference between yours and mine is mine are a bit longer and are
horizontally mounted. whereas yours are vertically mounted.
@TheKepine They are the exact same tires that come on the new Wrangler
Rubicon. In order to fit them, I had to put on a 2″ Rough Country
suspension lift. Oh, and yes, they are stock rims!
extra load carrying capability for all the cool goodies you’ll snag at the
next train show…..
I don’t know anything about that vehicle, but that sounds quite excessive
for some shocks. Then again, I don’t know about what type of suspension is
under there. Sorry I’m not much help!
Thanks!
didn’t you just put in the same rusty bolt you said you were going to
replace? also, thanks for uploading this video! really helped me.
Keep it that way. I wish my car was so new and clean.
lol i replaced my front shocks on my gmc sierra i bought used they had
148,000 miles on them and the rear its like theres no shocks at 151,000
miles im replacing them today with monroe reflex
use a small jack to help lift it up
It’s an ’06, I just try to take care of it as much as I can, and clean it
off whenever I get the chance. Thanks!
About the same price. I got them off Amazon for about $100.
Just curious, what size tire and spacers are you running? Did you have any
rubbing issues on the front?
Car seems pretty new, no rust or anything.
Before i take out the shock absorber, do I need to use a jack to jack it up?
Good straight forward video on how to change your rear shocks. Very helpful
for someone who is trying it for the first time. Good job!!
@TheZackAndrews I try to clean it every so often, but then again, I haven’t
been mudding lately, either. 🙁
on my 2001 jeep grand cherokee I tried this and the bolt was so rusted and
seized that even after using penetrating oil it snapped in the lower mount
and is right now riding on a broken bolt. anyone know how to remove that
broken bolt and where to get a set of replacement bolts?
