This makes me wonder if something is off-kilter with my Wrangler. These
fellas had no problem pulling the top over the vehicle and engaging the
side latches. The one time I lowered then raised the top I had to go to the
dealer for help, and even they struggled for a full fifteen minutes.
Definitely not smooth operation. Suggestions?

Thomas, Chris Owenby here, Internet Manager for M&L Motors… let’s see if
we can help you out. A few questions for you. 1. What was the temperature
when you tried to operate your top? If the tops are cold it will make it a
bit harder to operate until it warms up. 2. Does the top frame itself
operate smoothly, no binding or popping while moving it? Make sure all the
screws are properly tightened to ensure proper action of the mechanism.
Those are a few things I’d look at. Hope that helped!!!

Hi, Chris. Thanks for the reply! As fate would have it, a couple days after
posting my quandary a friend and I raised and lowered the top on a nice,
sunny day, and it went as smoothly as could be. I wonder if the top simply
needed an opportunity to stretch a bit. Regardless, so far so good but I
will keep your suggestions in mind in case there’s future trouble. Cheers.
