With all of the force, and torque which is placed upon the axles during
vehicle operation, on and off road, how is it that the C-clips don’t just
shear off? I don’t understand how those tiny silver dollar sized things
hold the weight of everything connected to the axle in?

Michael Carpenter says:

Cool vid, however when I put the new shaft in from identical jeep the shaft
now moves in and out a lil. Everything is put together the same but my
spider gears did fall out. Is it possible I got shims on gears in the worng
places would that cause the shaft lashing?

Chay keenan-toop says:

Hey, My driver side axle won’t slide out. I’ve taken the c-clip out but it
won’t slide out like the passenger side axle did. Its a 2000 ford f-150.
Any idea why this is?

Sethepriest says:

Really really helpful thanks so much

Howard Hase says:

BleepinJeep thank you for the videos. I had to change my axle seal on the
passenger side because when I installed the new seals the spring popped off
the seal on the pass side making it leak and ruin my new brake hardware.
Now tonight I’ll be spending a lovely $100 on brake drums (those are worn
down to hell, 201k miles on them) and I’ll be changing my brannnd new shoes
on the passenger side because they’ve been saturated in gear oil. The nice
thing is I only have to ‘take apart’ the passenger side and swap a drum on
the driver side. Yay!

BleepinJeep:- I have a question for you? Not to sound like a idiot; but how
do you remove the Left side of the Axles shaft. I saw you had removed the
Axle shaft on the right side of your Jeep.

Sears GTV says:

Ok I have a 1/2 ton chevy 2×4 and I found I have a leaky axel seal on the
passenger side.( Brakes Locking up ) I have to take the rear dif cover off
. Did that . Messy smelly . And I have that Pin lock that holds the spider
gears in . ( Lock pin 10 mm ) This little pin broke off . How do I retrieve
this ? Can i drill out the big pin from the bottom ? 5/8s metal bit . Then
punch it out . I had someone tell me that they would tourch it out. The
big pin . I think thats going to be a big heat problem . What your thoughts
on trying to remove the broken part. Since then I put the screw head back
in and waiting on what to do.

Joe Andrucyk says:

Hey Matt. GREAT VIDEO! Wish I had seen it before I did my F150 rear.
Thanks for taking the time to share your wisdom. Good luck with Bleepin
Jeep! The only thing I did different was a box instead of a socket on the
Pinoin Shaft retaining bolt. .

Any reasons why my axles wont push in after I remove the pin? I cant get to
my c-clips because I cant get my axle shafts to move.

Great video.. Thank you.

Alexei Popov says:

Nice video…guy!!! I had a question tho: I have a 04 frontier. 2wd. 4 cyl.
I dont have a hole next to wheel bolts…so it must be c-clip. But when I
tried to take that long pin out…i couldnt, because it is sitting inside
of a “biggest” gear…and I cant pul it out all the way…so where do I
find those c-clips? thanks.
