Thank you, I was able to do this easier.

Thanks the job went really smooth.
The video was a great reference.

74drat says:

try using grass string or bailing wire to tie your brake caliper to the spring or the antisway bar so you dont have to wrestle with it while doing this.

superpug666 says:

thank you…big time 🙂

You should be able to apply most of the basic steps to your application. You would more than likely need different size tools. We carry both the Timken and economy hubs for your 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

superpug666 says:

6Camel6Finger6 says:

gc does not have a rear hub assembly, your prob refering to the axle bearings and the axle itself. youll have to take off the caliper, cradle, axle retaining plates and the axle should slide right out. if its stuck use a brass or rubber mallet to loosen, or a large pry bar. if u need more insight you can pm me. i just did my rear seals on my 02 gc.

mymachoman says:

so you pull in a 66 67 gto and in the backround of the jeep i swear thats a 1960 pontiac catalina not sure took me away from the wheel bearing job lol

We sell replacement front axles for your 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee on our website 1aauto.com or you can call sales @ 888-844-3393

brad baker says:

dose a 2000 jeep grand cherokee have a cv axle both of the boots are riped on the front axle what do i need to buy from you and how much does it cost?

1aauto says:

I wasn’t able to feel any play in the tire, but once I took the hub out of the knuckle I was able to wiggle the front and back of the hub quite a bit. If you take the tire and brakes off you can probably try to wiggle it by hand once the, rotor, pads and caliper are out of your way. Here’s a link to the Timken bearings on our website.1aauto.com/1A/wheel-bearing-hub-front/Jeep/GrandCherokee/TKSHS00034/510969/2000?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=youtube&utm_campaign=1ATony

1aauto says:

We currently do not have a video that shows you how to remove the rear hub assembly on this vehicle. We’ll keep this in mind if we end up making this repair in the future.

Im looking for a video of how to replace the rear hub assembly for my 2000 JGC limited but cant seem to find any video. Is this process the same as the rear, also do you carry the rear hub assembly for this jeep. I went on your site and you only have the front hub assembly. Any help will be appreciated. thank you.

Thanks for stopping by and checking us out. Have a great day!

Chespi Rungo says:

The brake caliper should be tied up with a wire to prevent it from dropping and accidentally stretching the rubber brake line. Also some rotors have access holes where you can simply screw in small bolts to remove the rotor with ease, check for those before pulling out the hammer. I liked the video thank you for uploading.

Thank you for checking out our auto repair videos. 1aauto.com

1aauto says:

Not necessarily, any one should do.

1aauto says:

As long as it’s torqued down correctly you shoul be ok.

SycoJester666 says:

Also with the 1-7/16″ nut, could I use my impact to put it back on? Starting it with a 110 ft/lb torque limiting extension, and finishing with a 65 ft/lb?

SycoJester666 says:

With that 1-7/16″ socket….does that need to be a deep wall?

1aauto says:

They would more than likely need to be pressed out.

tubdino says:

Okay thanks. Would a hub puller get it out?

1aauto says:

No it doesn’t I corrected my post for you.

tubdino says:

Are you sure the Acura has 3 bolts? I looked everywhere… I’m going to get a hub puller today.
Sorry about making your video a help thread about Acura

1aauto says:

There are articles about it on Honda-Tech com

1aauto says:

The 2000 Acura TL has a totally different different setup than the Jeep Grand Cherokee. The hub your Honda Acura is pressed into the knuckle.

1aauto says:

You can use that. If your careful you can use a hammer too as we show in the video.

tubdino says:

@1aauto, I am in the middle of replacing my from bearing on my 2000 acura TL. I cannot for the life of me get the damn hub off. The axel is free but no matter how hard I bang and pound, I can’t get the hub free. I dont see any hub bolts like you show in this video but it sure as hell feels like the thing is bolted on. I am unable to get any good whacks at it because the rotor shield if in the way and I can’t get the shield off either. Would a hub puller from my local parts rental store help?

TheHHProject says:

Thanks for all the great video! I understand making this accessible to the home owner who doesn’t have a lot of specialty tools. But do you ever use a 3 jaw puller to pull the hub off? Always works great for me and they can be had for pretty cheap. I just never liked the idea of smacking it with a hammer.

1aauto says:

We use those quite a bit while doing brake jobs. Thank you for visiting our auto repair channel on YouTube.

jesse banke says:

Zip ties or Twist ties can be a good way to hold your caliper up out of the way while making repairs, cheap and easy

1aauto says:

Usually when you have a wheel bearing go bad, they’ll start to make a howilng noise, or sometimes even a grinding noise.

alan933 says:

I wish you had indicated the symptoms of this problem before hand. I am trying to figure out if this is what is wrong with mine.
