Got bored and wanted to make a video of how I put the top back on by myself. And Yes I almost dropped it lol and Yes that was the first time that happened.

Damn… now I gotta try this
Lol I love this video, I laugh so hard every time at that first part 🙂
Thanks for the vid! I just got my first Jeep and I can’t wait to take the
hard top off as soon as it’s not crappy out!
i do this all the time in the summer with my YJ, except I have a summer
hard top it has no glass:P
I done this a month ago and now im gonna have to see a neck doctor. The
buddy system or a hardtop lift is the way to go.
i did the same thing with my cj7 for 12 years !! off in april,on in
november…getting too old for that kind of workout now !!..sold the cj7
and bought a brand new 2005 wrangler with a soft top !!..hard tops are much
quieter than soft tops, but hard tops are the best in snowy winter
weather.BTW, your jeep looks great !!..nice wheels&tires.
Yeah i used to do that…..until i tripped on a stick fell and broke out a
window. Needless to say i got a roof lift.
that was beast
@WeaskNsta ya even with someone to help you put it on it sucks. roof lift
is the best bet
i tried this and the only thing that i was able to do is scratch the
paint!!!!! not really heavy but it’s big. now, believe me, i’ll get a
friend to help me.
thats a manly man right there
hey believe it or not that was my first time filming and the only time I
almost dropped it lol
Cool!
How many times do you think he biffed the front end of it before he got the
vid right?
@lovedavdubs no I had metal bolts, the chair thing probably would have made
it a lot easier. Im only 5’10 and off the ground is hard for me.
Dang, my LJ hard top has an extra 10″ of weight to it, I had to build a
hoist for mine!
That’s the best way to be the strongest guy on the block…. Jajajaja
i have that same top lol and i have to try what you just did
@calven727 i searching for the 2004-2009 models but cannot find them :'(
Thanks for the great video and in your case the “almost” doesn’t apply as
you excelled. To some who haven’t handled the tops they are lighter than
appear, but make for an awkward maneuverability.
I’m going to put mine back on today. Think I will get a second hand though
I hurt my back when I did it myself like that before.
I did not notice the jeep had doors -___-
@lucas07770 ya I ended up selling my hard top and buying a soft top and a
rear bumper with a a tire carrier. Easy to put the windows on and off and
if you go on trails its easier to prevent damage.
haha!! did the same thing this fall!!
you forgot to mention the part where it says scronny guys can’t do this lol
Very nice lookin jeep !!
check out that karate kick at 0:21 hahaha kmsl
man im 23 y old and its soooo fkn dificult to get the hard top installed
cause its to heavyyy….. im looking for the roof jack
This looks easier than putting a PITA soft top back together.
Ok hard tops are nice and all but I like the fact tht with a soft top u can
pull over on the side of the road and take the top off and off it starts
raing u can put it back on
Hi, Great video thanks! I am planning on buying a jeep with a soft or
hardtop, i prefer the hard top but was wondering if I could do the
installation on my own. I was thinking of doing what you did get under it
and balance it in place. You proved that I can do it on my own.

@travishurley820 ya pretty much the same way just turned facing the rear
window. once you figure out where to place your hands to balance it its
really not that hard. just dont drop it lol
