Thanks for the video, gave me just what I needed! However, if you have a
rear tow hook, be prepared to remove the bumper too to access the bolt
holding the arm for the hook. Don’t bother with the nut on the arm because
it is welded on.
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
After watching Uncle Vintie’s video, I was able to save over $300
installing the wiring and trailer hitch by myself. Dealer quoted over $500
and I was able to purchase all the parts for a little over $150 for
Hitchanything. Thank you again for putting this video together and showing
that your average consumer can perform some basic automotive tasks. Don

You’re welcome. Hope it was helpful.
Thanks!!
My camera work wasn’t very good, but UV did a good job showing how to do
the installation. Glad that you found the video useful and that it saved
you some money!
Love the hat and good video sir
Thanks!!!
I’ve got a commander (07). Want to tow bike rack and eventually a small 17′
camper. Did you get a class 3 hitch?
thank you for sharing Uncle Vintie!!!!
In the Curt model that we bought the nuts are welded on the hitch.
are the 4 holes threaded? how are the bolts tightening up?
Yes, we got a Kurt class III hitch. It tows up to 5,000 lbs. You won’t need
that much for the bike rack, but you probably will for the camper. It
depends on the specific bike rack and camper. The different classes of
hitches have different opening sizes e.g. class III – 2″ and class II
1-1/4″. Most bike racks are Class I or Class II, but you’ll probably need
class III or maybe IV for the camper.
