How To Install a Touchscreen Radio into a Jeep Wrangler!

Its time to add some modern features to my 2010 Jeep Wrangler!!!
This project is long overdue, ive been wanting a stereo upgrade for a long time.
Apple Carplay, Android Auto, touchscreen, bluetooh, reverse camera, better sound, this radio has it all!

As you can tell, this is not a very hard install. However it does require some work and having all the proper parts helps out a bunch haha.
I chose to go with the Boss Double din radio. Its an affordable setup, and looks very nice inside of a jeep wrangler. The sound output is alot better even without doing any other upgrades. This radio also came with a reverse camera in the box, so that was just an added bonus!!
Overall, this was an awesome interior upgrade to the Jeep, and i hope that this video helped some of you out!

I will let you guys know how it holds up over time. I am sure it might have some issues if it gets soaking wet, however most radios will… The goal for this install was to keep it budget friendly, keep it DIY, and still come out with a clean looking setup! Like always, thank you for watching and please give the video a thumbs up and leave a comment!

Check out the factory Kicker speaker upgrade. They're plug and play, come with the factory connectors, and are 2 way for better highs. I found the best price on Amazon for the set of (4) 6.5" speakers.

This video shows what its like for someone installing their first head unit. Install the radio. Take the radio out and then back in about 100 times. I remember my first experience with installing a not so great head unit in my old 86 Oldsmobile Wagon. That thing was a nightmare and it didn't sound any better than the factory head unit.

Ben you need to start a v8 engine swap video series!!!!

Chris Bowers says:

So, what are your initial thoughts regarding running the stereo without that rear metal mounting bracket? I’ve decided to upgrade my stereo as well. Is it secure enough, without it?

PromiseLand Adventures says:

I bought this https://www.extremeterrain.com/rr-mmount-dash-tray-phone-1355117.html works for the boss stuff in a 2010 for sure

Joshua Perez says:

I know you all just moved and are settling in but there is a big wheeling event at katemcy rocks called jeep experience. You all should look into it!

Reuben Bennett says:

Were at on the rear did you mount the camera.

Mike Richardson says:

Ben, I am planning to make this purchase soon, I have the stock radio and map display it's useless. My question is reference the back up camera: In your opinion is there enough wire supplied for a spare tire swing arm? I have a Metal Cloak rear bumper and Lic plate relocation bracket and would want to install on that. I am thinking I will have to order additional wire and based on what I saw on the video it appears to be RCA.
