How to Install a Mopar Jeep Fuel Filler Door – Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

In this video we show you how to install a Mopar Fuel Filler Door on our 2015 Jeep Wrangler. This is a great cosmetic upgrade to that factory gas cap and we think it really improves the look of the jeep. You can pick up one of these on amazon.com: http://amzn.to/2dRauiu

The install take just under and hour and all you need is a Philips screw driver and a little motivation and it’s and easy upgrade that looks great!

Pain in the ass that's for sure couldn't figure out one of the clips until I finally realized you keep one clip stays connected and to let it hang briefly, that fucking O ring ….I had to take the cover back off, slip on the O ring over 1st over the mopar billet gas while the cover was not attached. That did the trick, tight seal now and looks great! 1st mod that I've ever done for that matter, more to come! Thanks

My 2011 Wrangler has metal over the inside of the gas cap making it impossible to use your hand and move the tab located in the 10 o'clock position.  I got the 2 'clock tab off first, then used a short and skinny flat screw driver and pried the other tab open from the outside.  Frustrating.

Awesome vid! Question for you. Where did you get the "Trail Recon" sticker? And by chance do you know the dimensions? Thanks.

Michael Grubbs says:

Just like to know if you are still satisfied with the "MOPAR" fuel door and how well it's weathered? After clicking on the link to Amazon in the description box and reading through some of the comments, there seems to be some consensus that while the product is described as OEM from MOPAR, that the packaging seems to suggest a product manufactured and shipped from China. It's about time that the fuel tank cap gets a lock and so does the hood.

This is intimidating for me but will give it a try…

Looks great! I personally like the open look

I enjoy that you use EDM instead of the typical country/rock music. It shows that not all jeep owners are stereotypical rednecks lol

Robert Bertels says:

Literally was the 2nd mode I did on my 2016 JKUR (GraBars was the first) for the very same reason. Amazing how a simple change can make such a big difference in the looks.

Quintino De Sousa says:

Oh man this is perfect I think ill have to get one for my sisters Jeep for the holidays

Carlos Hinostroza says:

Thanks for this cool install! I did the same upgrade. It was not as easy to install as I thought it would be. Glad I did it, it looks a lot better. Man, that California dust gets everywhere! LOL.

RockTrooper says:

Does Mopar make a locking cap?

Scott Dilley says:

put this same one on my jku. I like the metal also, it will be even nicer when I don't have to clean the snow and ice out before I put gas in here soon. But you probably don't need to worry about that in CA. lol
