You destroyed the top seal hammering it and shaving bits of rubber from it
I'm about to do this, I'm wondering if freezing the seal would help it install a bit easier?
How long did it take you to complete this?
It looked like when you installed the half in the block it shaved some of the gasket off, is that true? And did it hold up ok?
You're using RTV in all the wrong places, sadly.
What are you using to clean the rear main seal parts?
Ps. Thanks, great video.
Great Video, thanks for the help.
what vehicle are you working on? duhhhhhh
Didn't remove starter or manifold pipe
Yours must be lifted on 3" lift or something
hey man, first time jeep owner, actually only have owned it for about 14 hours when writing this.
oil is dripping 2-3 drops from the same place
your video is exactly what i needed, so thank you
Great job man! The RMS in my 01 XJ didn't have thosd little ears either. Props for doing that job with the front end in your way. I did mine before installing a lift so I had the front axle completely off the jeep out of the way. Keep up the good work!
