Typically when codes P0457 or P0455 are tripped, it is because there is a small leak somewhere in your system. First thing to check is a loose gas cap or broken gas gap. I always recommend purchasing a new one first as it is cheap potential fix. If this does not correct the issue, check that the hose is connected to the white module located above the gas tank (see video). If it is connected properly and not broken, replace the Evaporative System Integrity Module as seen in video.

Please double check that this part will fit your vehicle prior to ordering. Also, please ensure the rubber O-ring is replaced and/or not damaged before completing the installation of the new part.

Be aware you will most likely need to clear the check engine light after installation. If the check engine light does not come back up within a tank full of gas, you know this resolved your issue 🙂

Mine reads P0456 for my 2016 JK. Is this the same issue??

Shane gretzky says:

Do you remember the part number and what it's called my jeep through that code tonight

Zack Ehling says:

So the rubber oring that comes attached to the Integrity module stays on there when you install? And then you need the other oring that you linked as well?

Shane gretzky says:

What about p0455

Kate Peterson says:

You can reset you computer and get rid of your check engine light by disconnecting you battery for 5 minutes and see if it pops back on or not

John Diederich says:

How soon will gas cap turn off after reset code

Cris Garcia says:

Perfect! Changed out the part in a few minutes and the check engine light went right off. The old part seemed to be all loose inside. The new one was not. Thanks for the help!!

Ralph Jones says:

did you smell gas before this fix…i just started smelling gas and had ac on and wtf…read my codes and its a PO6DD but that shouldnt be a gas issue thats the oil pressure valve …i.e. change your oil and filter…at worse your unit under the lower manifold.
