Is the fuel filter in same location on 2000 xjs?
Well shot, well lit and clear explanation of all of the steps needed. I
wish all how-to videos were done this well. Thanks!
Thanks for the easy to follow guide. Saved me a bunch of time.
check my video “what to do after buying a used car”
how often do u do this?
yes it is
This is a very nice channel….Hey where is is the gas filter on a 98
cherokee?…i think its in the tank
yup, apparently its an all in one pump/filter/sending unit.
it has some sort of fuel filter in the tank that is suppose to last the
life of the pump.
I have a 99 xj. So I have a fuel strainer in the tank and no inline
filter…
Just tell all your friends… or make a bunch of youtube accounts and
subscribe with those;)
Anyways great video
hmmm. I do need more accounts!!! yeah…
I remember the first XJ I owned, within a day the fuel pump went out so i
climbed under dreading dropping the tank and saw the pump and filter
staring at me. lol that was the day i realized i never wanted to drive
anything else, and its been one easy fix after another since (Just Empty
Every Pocket, right?).
yep, I havent put em up front yet but will eventually
im trying to figure out how to subscribe twice… Good stuff as always!!
good tips!
been busy busy busy, and rain rain rain.
yep, def new bump stop time!
I’ve seen the vid, just didnt know where you used them since you said front
or back
Tip: use hose clamps on either side of the filter to stop the gas from
coming out. And fuel eats latex gloves, keep a few sets spare when working
with fuel.
yes, in the direction of fuel flow.
Finally a video!!
yep, it is.
That is a very nice looking rig you’ve got there
I just did a fuel filter and swapped from the renix fuel rail and lines to
91-95 rail and lines. That job SUCKED.
Thanks, Ive got a vid on that if interested!
gotta say man, I love all your vids, even the ones on the basic stuff. Ive
been watching alot of them lately, is the Walden Ridge area still open to
wheeling. Me and some guys up here in Pennsyltucky were thinking of making
a trip down your way for some wheelin
Your videos are great. I want to get an XJ for my first car and slowly
build it for mild trails and maybe some rocks. Your vids are definitely
helpful to me and and all beginners. KEEP JEEPIN!
I learned I’m not the only one that needs to replace bump stops. LoL. But
seriously the fuel filter is the most overlooked maintenance item of all
time 2nd only to the PCV.
Sorry….arrow toward engine?
Thanks Matt for all the great vids!
Another brilliant video Bleepinjeep. Keep it up matt. You are a jeep
lifesaver 🙂
J.E.E.P.
Don’t smoke while doing this….lol. it’s pretty sad that you have to tell
some people this!
nice bar pin eliminators!
nice video matt. just a tip, maybe you could have started the engine, pull
out the fuel pump fuse and let the car idles till it stalls. it would
minimize the amount of spillage when you pull the old fuel filter out 🙂
I replaced my pump and filter 3 weka ago. The 3 neighbor guys laughed when
I told them why I was under the XJ. They weren’t laughing when an hour
later it fired right up!!!
what about just pulling the fuel pump fuse?
