How to Change Thermostat for a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo thank you

G Hernandez says:

Mine was leaking so bad that my radiator was empty while my reservoir was full, causing the engine to overheat. The crack was barely visible and I managed to stop 99% of the leak by sealing the crack with gasket maker. Nonetheless I am replacing the housing soon.

SGT. NMI says:

EVERYONE! Look for almost invisible cracks in the goose neck of the MOPAR thermostat housing. It took me FOREVER to figure this out! My coolent level was always slowly dropping, but I couldn't figure where or how because there was never any visible sign, just a very faint odor of coolent. (Problem even continued after switching out the oil cooler.) When the check engine light told me to replace the thermostat at the 6-year mark, I found red goo on the thermostat housing dried over almost invisible hairline cracks in the goose neck. (I needed a magnifying glass to see them!) The coolent was slowly leaking out and evaporating before it ever had a chance to drip.

Clint Rogers says:

Thanks. Love these videos.

wadedog says:

Thanks for the video Is it normal for the fluid to push out of the coolant filler ? I think I might of gone past 10 minutes it started to pour out so I turned the jeep off gonna let it cool down and run it for 5 more mins

Gary Plumer says:

The drain cock…. counterclockwise? Mine will turn rather easy clockwise, but stops turning counter. (Dealer replaced the radiator a couple years ago. could the replacement drain cock be threaded opposite?

Ignacio Carbonell says:

Better remove that thermostat. That causes OVERHEAT AND WILL SPEND YOU MONEY
