The most easiest way to tell if your water pump has failed is that if your losing coolant. Where ever you stop you will find puddles of coolant, this is not the only symptom you can be suffering from overheating issues as well if the water pump is failing. If the impeller is damaged you could see less flow of coolant causing it overheat. This is my version of how I replaced the water pump in my 2014 wrangler JKU with a 3.6 Engine.

Bought a new JL also have a 04 Tj I really like the new jeep but this job would be 100 times easier on the TJ. They sure make working on new vehicles hard.

Been watching your channel for quite some time. Not surprised you popped up when I searched for a water pump video. I've torn down my JK to put in the third radiator in 100k miles. These things leak within 50k miles. Trying my luck w/ a NAPA unit rather than another Mopar. Anyway – the water pump started chirping as well, so she's getting a new one of them as well. Thanks for all the work you do with your channel. Cheers. It's MFBT.

Brad Garrard says:

This would be a great video if you mentioned what size each bolt was as you removed.

Capt. Caymaaan says:

Great video. To the point and easy to follow.

Another job well done! Attention to the details like double checking how the gaskets are oriented, makes for a successful job. I hate having to redo a job especially when it's my fault… It Sucks!
