DIY Auto: Truck-Lite 27450C3 LED headlamp installation into 1990 Jeep Cherokee XJ.

I drove around for the last 20 years with crappy stock headlamps. Life brightened up with these Truck-Lite LED headlamps. Big improvement. Cost … $500.

What is this difference between these and lets say some headlamps that are like 100 bucks for both. Why are some so cheap and some like really expensive?

Klondike Mike says:

No they do not look yellow-ish. Near the end of the video it was already getting dusk and the lighting getting poor for the camera. If you have the money and want to spend double, go for the JW’s.

Cain Porter says:

Thinking about buying these or the JW Speaker 7×6’s

These look a little yellow in your video… (like a halogen look)

Are they really yellowish ?

I have both a 95 and a 90. I absolutely love my 95. it starts quicker than any other engine ive come across. As much as ive put into the 90 to clean it up and get it running smooth. it still has its bugs that im having trouble working out. When i got it, it was a prime example of how people neglect their vehicles.

Klondike Mike says:

Yes, I do keep it clean. I bought it in 92. There’s no middle ground when it comes to the RENIX models. I’ve invested a lot of time, money and effort so far, have to keep on going.

Djmack199o says:

As much as i hate the 90 and prior renix models. I want to compliment you on how clean your cherokee is.

Klondike Mike says:

That’s about what I paid for them as well, $500/pr.

bassmaster4209 says:

Were did you get them i can only find them for like five hundred

Klondike Mike says:

Sorry, I can’t provide link. I bought these over 20 years ago, you’ll have to search yourself and let us know when you find them.

Austin Aumiller says:

Can you give me a link to those GTS headlight covers?

A&P in HD! says:

that sucks…

Klondike Mike says:

I did when I had the “smoked” covers on.

grandpaseed says:

you always drive with your highbeams on …what a #$%*

Klondike Mike says:

Lifetime warranty!? We wish. I believe only 3yrs. is offered.

A&P in HD! says:

That’s what I was thinking… Do they come with an unlimited lifetime warranty?

stek96 says:

я так ине понял как они светят!(

mitchell unghire says:

high beams are the full light both half’s low beams are the top half i have a 99 xj and have looked into those lights, just thought i would get that out before people start questioning me

Ken Shepard says:

hey can you do a real world driving down a dark road with low than hi beams

Erik Hell says:

I see… just got new headlights for $11 ^^ They’ll have to be better than my current headlights though, they’re rusted and old as ****. They’ve been on the car since 1987. I’ve also made an HID conversion and i’ve got two 220mm HID offroad lamps as well, that shoould be enough. But your LEDs look really cool though!

Klondike Mike says:

No footage of operation. They are definitely better than stock and a big improvement. Having said that, they are not worth $500/pair. $200 would be a more reasonable price.

Erik Hell says:

That looks pretty…. different… at least ^^
Do you have any footage of the light in front of the car? How big a difference was it compare to the old Halogen units you replaced? And most important: Was it really worth $500!?

Klondike Mike says:

I thought it was cool for 20 years.

Ken Shepard says:

thank you for not reinstalling those fugly faded gto covers

Klondike Mike says:

Aluminum housing, the lens is polycarbonate, not glass. Go to NAXJA forums to get extensive details.
