Corey Schaefgen says:

Also I think my issue is with the rear.

Corey Schaefgen says:

Can I do this same method with a Wrangler 07? I don’t know the diff between 06-07 but there was a change correct?

Evan Last says:

The duralast “C-Max” pads come with NUMEROUS Abutment clips. How do I know which ones to use on the ears of my brake pads?

Evan Last says:

Just buy a $8.00 6″ C clamp form Autozone.

hutchneel says:

ABS, My 06 Wrangler does not have it. . . How do you instal those blue barrel springs on the brake shoes?

1965cyclone39 says:

i think this is good for any TJ jeep from 97 to 06.

jeepernj99 says:

good video

Kevin Devine says:

After watching this video, I went to AutoZone and bought pads and rotors and replaced the brakes on my 2001 Jeep Wrangler for the first time. Probably saved me $400 and it only took me an hour to do the job (most of it getting the tires and caliper off). Thank you,

MrProjectpat15 says:

This might be a dumb question but could this video work for a 1997 Jeep wrangler? I wanna do my brakes and even looking at a Haynes manual they really didnt change too much on the jeep wrangler much over the years. Awesome job for the video by the way and thanks.

GhezzyVids says:

LOL he said he wanted it lifted!

MrAshbask says:

Fantastic video mate very helpful

Evan Euphrat says:

I just replaced my pads and I get no compression on them now. I have pumped the breaks a bunch but am not sure how long I should expect to have to do it. I loosened the fluid nut on the back buy mistake but have re tightened those and am not leaking fluid is there a chance I got air in and have to bleed the line?

roadragecustoms says:

That is a disc brake pad spreader. I bought it from Matco Tools. It was around $20.00.

Bonnie Brown says:

What is the name of that spreader tool. How much is it and where can I get one? Also, are the brakes on this jeep similar to those on a Dodge Nitro?

cgraz2001 says:

Thank you for posting this video! I never knew doing the brake pads was this simple. Cost me 30 bucks to do it myself! I’ll never take it to a mechanic for brake pads again.

boatpemp says:

Salt country on older car torch carefully! Bearings in there

roadragecustoms says:

If you are removing it to replace it, use a big hammer & penetrating oil. If you want it machined or are removing it for some other reason, use a big mallet or a hammer & a block of wood so you don’t damage the rotor.

tribeofsix1 says:

I’m wondering if there are any tips for getting the rotors off if they are stuck.
Thanks.

trigger5332 says:

Great video thanks!

roadragecustoms says:

I’ve been fussed at a ton for that habit. You aren’t supposed to do that. There were a few years of GM trucks that supposedly had issues with ABS after a brake job if the bleeder was closed. I have never had a problem with it & I’ve done many GMs. I wonder if the vehicles already had issues & the brake job magnified it, or if the person doing it forced the piston in really fast?

founditnow54 says:

I have a question for you….I see when you compress the caliper piston to allow room for the new pads you don’t open the bleeder screw (I do the same). I’ve heard that forcing the fluid back through the system can harm the ABS components or master cylinder. Has that ever happened to you?

roadragecustoms says:

If you reverse them, you may have a little uneven wear & possibly some pad overlap, where the pad hangs off the rotor a little bit.

xWARVIDEOSx says:

what happens if you accidently put the pads on the wrong side? i installed my brakes on my zj for the first time, and everything works great. but after watching your video, the part about the notches made me realize i didn’t pay attention and i think i swapped sides by accident. how bad is this? do i need to redo everything? like i said, the brakes work great.

Donald Fredrich says:

Thanks so much for the vid. I’ve done breaks on my Dodge but my x-wife has an 07 Wrangler with indicator tabs starting to be heard. She has asked me if I could change the pads and now I can. (needed to know about the two 13M bolts) Thanks.
I bet alot of guys would like to mess with the breaks on their ex’s car. LOL Mine carries my to boys. Gotta make sure Momma’s safe too.

roadragecustoms says:

I don’t know. If a wheel won’t rotate & you have to hit it with a hammer to fix it, It still has another problem that needs to be addressed immediately.

Nightwing690 says:

Hey Dave, I know this isnt related to brakes, but what was that old myth that you can unseize a tire by hitting it with a hammer?
