Hi Caleb,

Are you able to tell me, is it the same process to remove the starter motor
for a 2006 Diesel Jeep Commander?

Suzette Ebreo says:

replace the starter relay. it solved mine. not the starter.

sheldon leslie says:

Thank you. I really appreciate what you do because after you found out you
didn’t have to remove the starter, you didn’t have to continue after that
but you did just to give us a visual on what to do if you really do have to
remove a starter

Gregory Lorino says:

Easy way to see if it is a connection… Wait till night have someone crank
the vehicle while you are under it. The starter is covered by a skid plate.
While they are cranking, if you see a flash of light there is a loose
connection. Arching to the starter. Do not take to shop!!! Get it on
blocks, take the skid plate off, take the starter out. You will see what
looks like a copper post the positive cable attaches too. It may look burn
or melted. Get a die make proper treads and reattach the cable, the
starter, and skid. Will fire up like new. Your welcome. If you take it to a
dealer they will replace your whole starting system and bleed you dry.
