Andrea Caccese says:

thanks to this vid I manage to do it on my 59 musicmaster (first time ever
for me with vintage tuners!) From what I could hear in the comments, people
seemed to experience problems with the high e, while the only tough one for
me was the low e string for some reason, the only one that kept snapping
off :-D

zodiacbluesbaby says:

I string my Strat exactly like this, but like a few people here I was
hoping for a magic solution to stop the top E string flying out.

Stephan Bijl says:

good method, but i always ‘push out the air’ of the strings on the tuners
with a pick. I push the strings down with a pick. Otherwise it will still
go out of tune

Paul Hopkins says:

There is no need to oil a rosewood board. Over oiling a fretboard can make
the wood soft and cause frets to rise. Rosewood is naturally oily and just
the oil from your hands will keep it from drying out. Just clean the gunk
off of it with a damp rag. Also when you clean your frets with steel wool,
you should use a fingerboard guard. It is a thin piece of metal with a slot
in it that keeps the steel wool off of the finger board. Even the finest
steel wool going across the grain like that will leave scratches.

I wish all tuning machines were made like the ones in this video. They keep
the fretboard looking neat because the string ends are not exposed.

cecopitechi says:

..polish the frets with steel wool ? english is not my first language cam
you spell it backward ?

Jake Kennedy says:

Thank you for the great video! I was really worried about changing the
strings on my tele, after watching this video I did it with no problems.

MrGogocad says:

HI. Thx for the video. I don´t get one thing. You didnt seem to have locked
the tremolo, how tha heck restringing is as easy has that? Now that i m
thinking of it, the jags have no holes at the back, so u cant access the
ttremolo there. So if you lock the tremolo, and restring…how are you
going to unlock it back, if the strings are fitted and there is no access
from the back? Thanks in advance for your time :)

Amado peiro espi says:

I hate stringing a Fender Jaguar, strings 1, 2 & 3 will simply jump out of
the hole whilst winding them up. It’s myself who I’m winding up in the end.

marc marcus says:

the first 3 strings i cut them 2 pegs ahead but when i get to the last 3
STRINGS (G`B`E) i like to count 3 pegs ahead instead of 2 i heard a lot
of guitarist say they also use this method

Ian Flint says:

I’ve heard that lemon oil does nothing but dry the wood out. And that
steel wool looks like a really horrible idea.

PumpuliKivi says:

Thanks

Joe Stockton says:

Great video! used to hate changing strings on my Jag, never knew about
cutting the strings down!

jOHN hOUSE says:

D’oh. Two pegs past. can i remember whatever that was? Cool vid.

xxRandomnameguyxx says:

I have the same style tuning pegs, and I was wondering if i had to cut the
strings or not. THANKS

Infinite Loop says:

Nice video. I like these type of tuners – pegs. They look neat. I have
these on my fernandes stratocaster. I suppose the issue is that you cannot
change a string if you dont have a cutter with you, like you can with the
normal tuning peg (the ones with the wholes). Thanks for the info.

Bbendfender says:

Good job. So many young or less experienced players simply don’t know
about stretching new strings. I stretch my new strings 2-3 times after
tuning them to pitch. Good video for any guitar player.

xxRandomnameguyxx says:

BAND PRACTICE!. Pizza fingers.

Benny C says:

I was wondering what brand name of strings would you recommend I use on my
Fender Strat ? This is a Strat from the 1960’s and it’s been a while since
I replaced the strings on it.

Greg's Guitar Lessons says:

i wouldn’t. stick with proper fretboard oil.

ivan delgado says:

Do you still put lemon oil when you dont use the steel wool?

Jaded Renegade says:

haha that’s fucking awesome:P “Because if you have a plastic nut you could
end up fracturing the nut” omg how did he not laugh at that in the video…

Chris Doyle Music says:

You’re the best! I have finally conquered my lifelong foe the vintage style
tuner. Thanks so much. Quality video, very clear and concise.

THANK YOU MAN!
