Hello everyone. Today I replace the starter and battery on my 2001 Jaguar XK8 Convertible. First time replacing this ever. It was… to say the least… something. The absolute poor engineering on the replacement of this is mind blowing. I’ve seen plenty of poor engineered parts on vehicles over the years, every manufacturer has them, but this is just brain dead lol. The DIY’r can do this at home, just follow the way I do it as per service data and you will accomplish your task. So I hope you enjoy this journey WE take together. Thank you all.

If you remove the oil filter and the alternator cooling ducts the starter top bolt is easy to access with a ratchet and extensions. Don't drop the rack.
