Hubby purchased an X-Type 2003 Jaguar Sedan, where the dealers got it from as in 2018 it still had the original spark plugs, gaskets which had all rotted allowing oil seepage to the cylinders, we took the dealers word that it had been services 'WRONG' only had a drop of oil which was a murky black. OKAY OUR BAD. Lucky we didn't blow the motor up as we took a trip to Qld from NSW and almost home the amber light comes on for the first time and jerked(missing) the car then continued home. Since then thousands of $$$'s later, umpteen computer tests with nothing standing out being the main cause of the Amber light coming on and sometimes the car losing power and bringing itself to a stop, our Mechanic and a JLR/Jag dealership have ripped us off and the problem still exists. We took the Jag to an Import/Export Mechanic who deals with prestige cars, he checked over the car for us, very reasonably priced in comparison to the previous two. Purpose of the visit was to acquire a complete a Throttle Body Sensor, at the recommendation of our Mechanic, which he took off a 2003 X-Type 66,000kms Jag no prob. Checking under the bonnet at arrival the water reservoir was empty, a split hose (replaced) no warning light showed up on the dash. I figured out the cigarette lighter had blown a fuse as it wouldn't charge my mobile any more, the rear sensors have stopped working, no dash warning, watching your ECU above is it necessary to remove the glove box to access all of the fuses??

Can you please advise if you or other Jag owners, have had any of these issues with the Cruise Control / Amber Light Warning showing 'CC not available'. Yesterday driving back home 2 hours, the car stopped 5 times in dangerous situations, stopped restarted each time, turned off CC but in the end drove home with the amber light on all the way and no more stopping. In saying that Hubby said its the first time in 6 months that he made it up the hill that the Amber light usually comes on but then 40 minutes onwards the light came on going up a hill. Very disappointing, unless we can solve this amber light issue we are getting rid of it.

Hoping someone can shine a light on our gloomy situation.
