Thanks for uploading this video on XJ8 X308 radio fitting. A watched it prior to doing my little job and it certainly did help.
Something that may be of interest to others. I have a 2002 Jaguar XJ8 4.0 Executive which is a re-import from Japan. The Japanese spec radio has a shorter range of frequencies and only picks up 1 or 2 UK radio stations in the frequency range overlap area. I decided to replace this unit with a UK spec radio from a Jaguar breaker. After fitting, the radio did not work, or the tape player, but the CD changer did work. I took the unit back to the breaker's yard and he replaced with another. The same thing happened. I can only assume there is a difference in the multi-plug wiring between UK spec and Japanese spec cars. My solution…….I fitted a Frequency Adaptor from Amazon for about £13. This fits between the aerial plug at the end of the aerial cable and the aerial socket in the back of the radio and shifts the frequency band signal from the aerial and tricks the radio into picking up UK radio stations. The station name does not appear on the radio screen but the UK stations are received. It is the later style unit as featured in your video. Sorry for the long comment.

What a handsome man! 🙂

How does the radio code work? Do you have to punch it in to get the car to work?

Vicky Duncalf says:

Great work Roly and Rach! I only wish I had a Jag with a radio to replace 🙂
