Awesome! But I’d love to see you actually apply it too.
Great info! I have an 09 Toyota Rav4 and had a little shutter on the last
1/4 of the window closing. Not a slow window, but something was dragging. A
couple sprays of silicone on the side tracks and all is well. Thanks for
the info!
do you just spay the silicone right onto the rubbers and how much?
do you have to wait till it dries to start winding the widows up and if the
silicone gets on the glass is that bad will it come off easily?
thyanks
Thank you for the trick!
But how do you know that’s the problem with all windows though!? I’m having
problems with my windows but not sure what the hell it is yet but I’m sure
going to try this out before I really put a lot of money out to fix my
windows..damn windows!!
thanks so much, saved me a trip to the auto mechanic, so good when onto it
people share their knowledge, thanks again
Thank you so much!! I wasn’t sure where to spray the silicone. Now my
window doesn’t squeak anymore. Thanks for making the video :)
Helpful man, much thanks for posting! I was wondering how the silicone
spray works, I was doing a bit of research since my passenger window slows
because needs to be lubed, but couldn’t make a decision, looks like I’ll be
hitting up Home Depot tomorrow…also for anyone thinking abour trying WD40
it will not work. Trust
Will WD40 do the job?
THANKS for saving me a bundle of $$$! Picked up a tube of dry powder
GRAPHITE LUBE (extra fine) at my local auto parts store. Super easy to use
– window fixed for under $3 (05 VW Beetle)
It works . Cheers!
How about graphite, will it work?
Thank’s helped a lot !
This worked like a champ. Thanks for the tip!
Awesome tip. I honestly didn’t think it would work. Now my window goes up
with out me pulling on it. Thanks….
Awesom man, never thought about cylicone spray, gonna try it now
Thanks for the advice. I added silicone grease to the rubber after a new
window regulator install about a month ago. Now the window is getting stuck
and i forgot that it was probably the rubber. I’ll try using a silicone
spray for longer application effectiveness. Thanks the the vid.
Name a brand !
going to buy a can tomorrow and try it out. My windows only do this in the
cold weather, so its probally the rubber getting frozen or something. Ill
check back and let you know if it fixed the issue or not.
Sometimes the teeth on the regulator wear down to and the silicone spray
only works for a week or two.
Use Liquid Wrench DRY LUBRICANT. You don’t want to use anything “moist”
because it will make dirt attach itself to it more
@Stylnjj84 – Great info, thanks man! But have anyone told you that U
resemble that actor Elijah Wood? lol
you are my new hero. thank you
I tend to put Son-Of-A-Gun on a Q-Tip and run it between the rubber.
Will silicone boot spray work too?
@LutMejiaJ LOL!
Anytime!!
What if My window doesn’t go down but randomly does. Like my window is
stuck and won’t go down but rarely goes down and when it does it goes up
and down for a bit but at that time if I leave the window mid way it will
get stuck and I have to use my hand to either push it down or help pull it
up? Is this the right Video for me? right now it’s stuck up so how would I
even attempt to spray it…IF possible.
Thanks!
Thanks mate, much appreciated. I was gonna use some ED40 before I looked at
this.
Does this also work for a squeaky window? Every time I put my passenger
side window up it sounds like a fucking dinosaur and it freaks out the Mrs.
Please holla back. Nice gauges by the way
Sounds like your window came out of the rubber guides on each side of the
window..or it came off track.
No problem, anytime!
Thank you so much. I posted this video on my facebook page.
Tankyou man. I from brazil, rio de janeiro, and i have a civic lx 2000 with
slow Windows. I will try this spray. I am learning to fix same stufs with
this videos. Tanks.
No, WD-40 will only work till it washes off, go to Walmart and purchase
Silicone Spray, it’s in the Wd Isle.
Glad it worked for you!
Thank you for the info! Unfortunately one of my windows already got stuck
to the point where it came off the lift, but now I know how to prevent it
from happening again.
Anytime!
well i got WD-40 water resistance silicone lubricant WOULD IT WORK????
