Hi Chris
Big fan of your youtube channel , and admire your work . I live in NYC and unfortunately i cant work on my car as i live in an apartment building. I have i question .
I bought a car few months ago Mitsubishi montero limited 2004, in pretty good shape but with alot of miles 175k , buti loved it and only put gas on it . And changed the oil. But this weekend my engine broke my fault was driving in reverse flooring it , in a big parking lot. So long story short , i need to find an engine to replace it . So my question is how much is it fair to pay for an engine swap and if you know any place that I can find a 3.8 mitsubishi engine. Miles are not that important i just want my car to last a few more years as i dont use it that much .
Wishing you the best and hopefully you can give me some good news . Thanks again anf keep up the good work .
Regards
Alex

I've honestly been thinking about buying a 2000 ford ranger, not so I can use it as a parts car, but so I can use my current truck as a parts car, cause it has some problems and things I don't like. for example, radiator is shit, but I'm fixing to get a new one so it'd obviously go in the other. plus I want a 4 wheel drive and a 4 liter instead of a 3

JustAnotherWin says:

Hey ChrisFix! I love this video and all the resources you've provided.
Here's my question.

Would you consider buying two separate salvage cars to build up a rebuilt title car?

I see some newer model cars easily running that sub $1000 range and taking the broker & transport fees in mind you'd get them for $3-4k.
Could you theoretically build a like new car with two cars damaged from different areas?

Should I avoid area specific damage like side damage for the frame or corners of the cars?

love your stuff man!

Yani Younan says:

If you want to get rid of the dent on the side this might work. Pour hot water on around the dent but focus on the dent the most then grab a toilet plunger and push it in so it will squeeze in the dent then pull it out and if it worked then there's no dent anymore
