I grew up playing an Old ’66 Jaguar. It had a Old Vintage Smell. When I
try and smell that with the Cobain Jaguar I own all I can smell is Brand
new Wood and Wood Glue. I think it smells of New, I miss that Musky smell
and Gross looking Orange felt lining of my Old Jaguar & case.
hey if you want it without the dings and scratches fender made a new one
that’s actually cheaper since it isn’t a replica. It’s essentially the same
guitar, just without the road worn look
My Jaguar came with the “Missing Screw”. It also smells like playdough. I
thought it was just mine. I have tried to air it out. Didn’t think they
were supposta stink. Odd. Also, the bridge is after market faded black.
So it was not to match the faded chrome.
It is rocket science surgery……you lied…..lol good to see the dynamics
of what is done now I know what’s wrong with mine…..it’s stuffed. My next
one has to be solid electric, you live and learn.
This guitar just looks like it would just totally rock any style of music.
I think I played one at a friend’s years ago although it may have been a
normal Jag, awesome feel. I think it had singles instead of HB’s though.
I’m from the U.S., and always use the metric system when possible. I even
replaced the speedometer and gauge cluster on my 1995 pontiac firebird with
custom gauges for kmph and even the temperature gauge. i always thought the
standard measurement system was odd. Besides, every bolt and nut on this
car is metric.
Relic’ing allows both the manufacturer and the player to pass off the
guitar as something that it’s not, allowing both to cash in on something
they haven’t earned yet.
Yea that whole relic thing escapes me too. Just dont buy a case take it to
a few shows put it in the window of your car. Its actually embarrassing,
its fan boi bull. Anyway these videos always teach me so much thanks davey!
Beautiful guitar – also in ‘mint’ condition. 😉 Looks easy to adjust.
Kurt had the original floating bridge removed, which is crappy anyway and
got a Stewmac Tune-o-matic-bridge.
the reason why the bridge dosent match is because Kurt put it on as soon as
he got the guitar That is what iv been told and researched but i could be
wrong but they did relic it to his model great vid as always
he had this exact same guitar, it’s modeled off the Jaguar he was famous
for, he bought it from a pawn shop in almost new condition when he got it
and after a while of having it it looked pretty much like what you see
here, he never used a Jazzmaster on stage, I’ve seen a pick of him with a
Jazzmaster in a guitar shop, but I’ve never seen picks of him playing it
Could have bought one of these used back in 1981 for $150. A real one.
any reason you would want one of these over a strat or tele? is it
“grungier”, or are there other good reasons to have them

amazing guitar my next buy
did it come with a free shotgun?
Do you agree that using millimeters would be alot easier than inches?

I just love that guitar.
smells like teen spirit?
how can you say there is no buzzing? You only checked the low E and some of
the A in the video…
Smells like Team Spirit.
Kurt Cobain used Old Spice, that’s probably the smell!
The smell comes from the nitrocellulose lacquer, mine smelled to ;)
Ugly POS
the owner rubbed his balls on that gtr lol
This guitar. smells….I had it for 1.5 years and it still smells like
shit…
I have one and I didn’t notice any smell, so I just sniffed my case (LOL),
it smells a little like I remember Play-Dough smelling.
It’s Japanese not Mexican
there is really missing a screw (i’m sorry for my bad english, i’m from
holland)
I thought Kurt played upside down Jagstangs?
Kurt smelled pretty well actually :-)
Hey Dave, have you ever had to deal with a regular jaguar? What’s your
thoughts/tips on getting them to play well?
Too Cool! Great Video!

U wont notice the fretbuzz they’re reffering to with fingerpicking. Picks
just pluck much harder than fingers.

Maybe it smells like teen spirit???
Not everyone can YES, RUSH, EMERSON LAKE and PALMER! Thhank Gawd!
Please stop.
lol i thought the same thing with the smell. It looks and smells like its
constantly smothered in cigarette smoke.

I’ve been “relicing” my car, so I can sell it for more than I bought it for.
